SOUTHERN TIGERS GET PERFECT START IN AFC CUP

AFC CUP: JDT 4 - EAST BENGAL 1

JDT coach, Bojan Hodak was the happiest man on Tuesday night as JDT beats East Bengal FC without the regular trio import players, played in the opening fixtures Group F of AFC Cup in Johor, Malaysia. Hodak proved that his young players have that quality to compete in the international level after thrashing the AFC Cup 2013 semi-finalist 4-1 in the 90 minutes match.

Nazrin Nawi of JDT put the home team infront in 9th minute of the match from free kick and equalised by the visitor team in 34th minute via Ranti Martins. JDT leads again after skipper Safiq Rahim converted a penalty kick before half time.

Second half started with both teams played more aggressive in their attacking. The visitor team was unlucky when Jasazrin escaped from their offside trap before finished by S Chanturu in 47th minute. The visitor team had another shocked when Safee Sali added another goal with stunning bicycle kick past the East Bengal's goalkeeper in 53rd minute. It was a superb win for the home team and a reward for their fans to enjoy after a frustrating draw in the domestic league match last Saturday.
