PALESTINE THRASHED MALAYSIA KUALA LUMPUR

​WORLD CUP QUALIFYING: MALAYSIA 0 - PALESTINE 6                                                Malaysia fell to a 6-0 defeat against Palestine in their 2018 World Cup Qualifier match at the Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur. Palestine almost found the net just two minutes after the kick-off but Tamer Seyam 's attempt flew over the bar. However, the visitors opened the scoring seven minutes later through Musab Battat strike. ​​Malaysia almost got the breakthrough but Amri Yahya 's shot tipped over the bar by Palestine keeper Tawfiq Abuhammad . The visitors doubled their lead in the 22nd minute after Sameh Maraaba tapped into the net after receiving a pass from Matias Hadwa . MATTHEW GILES CLAIMS VICTORY IN BALI

​Matthew Giles of Australia sank a clutch birdie putt on the last hole to win the US$76,000 Bali National Golf Championship by one-shot on Sunday. The 25-year-old was tied with Lindsay Renolds of Canada before holing a 30-feet birdie to win his first Asian Development Tour (ADT) title with a closing three-under-par 69 at the Bali National Golf Club . Renolds, who led by two shots early in the round, shot a 68 to settle for his fourth runner-up finish on the ADT while Sutijet Kooratanapisan of Thailand and current Order of Merit leader Hsieh Chi-hsien of Chinese Taipei finished third and fourth respectively. It was a case of so close but yet so far for Renolds, who holed seven birdies against three bogeys to charge in contention before being defeated by Giles' brilliant birdie finish. MALAYSIA LIFTS CRESCENT CUP AFTER BEATING ALGERIA IN FINAL

​CRESCENT CUP: MALAYSIA 19 - ALGERIA 11 Malaysia won the inaugural Crescent Cup after defeating Algeria 16-11 in the final. The host nation claimed the victory after a hard fought match against   Algeria at the Merlimau Polytech field in Malacca. Algeria took the lead after five minutes into the match through Yassine Saaoui . Malaysia did not back down despite facing the physically bigger Algerian player. They held on and took advantage of every mistakes made by the opponent.  Mohamad Syrie Saiful Sudin scored three penalties in the 14th, 19th and 36th minutes to give Malaysia a 9-5 half time lead.  ​Algeria came back after the break with better approach. They were more careful to avoid from conceding more penalties. In return, the Algerian got two penalties scored by Boris Bouhraoua to take over the lead with 11-9. STIRLING COMES ALIVES WITH MAIDEN WIN AT RAHMAN PUTRA

​Overnight leader Jake Stirling of Australia earned his breakthrough on the Asian Development Tour (ADT) after closing with a two-under-par 70 to claim a two-shot victory at the PGM Rahman Putra Championship on Saturday. Stirling, who headed into the final round with a three-shot cushion thanks to a superb third round 62, negotiated his ways with four birdies against two bogeys for a winning total of 21-under-par 267 at the Rahman Putra Golf Club . Japan's Masaru Takahashi battled to a second consecutive 69 but was unable to pip Stirling to the title as he took second place on 269 while American Jarin Todd settled four shots back in third following a 72 at the RM250,000 (approximately US$69,250) ADT event. South African Mathiam Keyser came in fourth after carding a 68 while Malaysia's Nicholas Fung signed off with his best effort of a 66 to take fifth place on his own at the PGM Rahman Putra Championship, which is the 14th leg of the ADT schedule this season.

DAVID LINGMERTH BEAT JUSTIN ROSE FOR THE MEMORIAL TITLE

​David Lingmerth of Sweden swept away The Memorial Trophy after winning his first US PGA Tour title at Dublin, Ohio last weekend. In the final day of the tournament, David Lingmerth beat Justin Rose of US in a third-hole play off after both players finish with regulation tied with 15-under 273. Lingmerth and Rose returned to the 18th hole for their play-off match. Both of the players parred the hole twice before moving to the 10th for the third hole of sudden death which Lingmerth hit with a par to steal the victory. KAZAKHSTAN CLAIMS THIRD AT CRESCENT CUP

​CRESCENT CUP: KAZAKHSTAN 35 - LEBANON 25 Kazakhstan took the third place in the inaugural Crescent Cup Rugby Championship after defeating Lebanon 35-25. The third/fourth placing match at the Merlimau Polytech saw both team played their hearts out. Kazakhstan got the first try of the match just after six minutes through Alexandr Zakharor . Ivan Bushmeler sent the ball through to extend Kazakhstan lead to 7 nil. Lebanon showed great fighting spirit to get a try by Rohhan Zebib in the 18th minute. And Ben Abood did not make mistake to equalise the score. ​Two minutes later, Kazakhstan were back infront after Ivan Olkhovskiy converted a penalty. Lebanon did not show any sign of giving up. SUZANN PETTERSEN CLAIMS MANULIFE LPGA CLASSIC

​Suzann   Pettersen won her 15th LPGA Tour title by going 22 under. She finished one shot ahead of 2012 inaugural Manulife LPGA Classic champion Brittany Lang. Pettersen was awarded the winner's cheque of $225,000. Pettersen became the first European winner in the event's four-year history, and the inaugural winner at Whistle Bear Golf Club . She led both the second and third rounds earlier in the week, and in the final round played the front nine in 2-under and eagled 12 gaining momentum for two more birdies before sinking her final putt on the 18th green. This is Pettersen's first win in over a year and half and 34 starts. With this win, she is projected to move up five spots in the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings from 10th to 5th. Pettersen was the only player last week to make multiple eagles on the weekend. ANNA NORDQVIST WINS SHOPRITE LPGA CLASSIC

​Anna Nordqvist used back-to-back birdies from the 16th to win the ShopRite LPGA Classic by one shot over Christel Boeljon of the Netherlands and cap a happy Swedish Mother's Day on Sunday in Galloway, New Jersey. Nordqvist came to the par-five 18th with a two-shot lead, thanks to a botched birdie putt from less than two feet by Boeljon, and won despite a bogey at the last. The Swede posted a two-under-par 69 for a 54-hole total of eight-under 205 on the Bay Course at the windy Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club just inland from Atlantic City. It was Nordqvist's fifth career LPGA victory and her third win in 15 months following victories last year at the Honda event in Thailand and in California's Kia Classic. ​SEA GAMES: PHILIPPINES 24 - MALAYSIA 7 The Philippines men rugby 7s team maintained their unbeaten run to claim the gold medal at the Southeast Asia ( SEA ) Games. In the final match, the Volcanoes controlled territory from the outset, holding their Malaysian opponents in their own 22-metre area in the opening minutes. They soon made them pay as Patrice Olivier scored from a turnover and then Justin Coveney broke the line and made a long, solo run to the line. ​Although Malaysia hits back in the second half with a try out wide through Zulkiflee Azmi , the Philippines shut out the match when with three minutes remaining. LORENZO CLAIMS THIRD CONSECUTIVE VICTORY

​Two times world champion, Jorge Lorenzo claimed his third successive win in MotoGP race after sealing a victory in Italian Grand Prix which was held at Mugello on Sunday. The Spaniard powered his Yamaha machine to win the race ahead of home pole sitter Andrea Iannone and Italian legend Valentino Rossi. Defending world champion, Marc Marquez failed to complete the race after his motorbike crashed out with six laps remaining. KS DBKL BEAT COBRA TO TAKE LANGKAWI 7S TITLE

​KS DBKL won the Langkawi International Rugby 7s title after defeating Cobra 34-7 in the final match. Cobra who won the all their matches in Pool A could not deny the high scoring KS DBKL from clinching the title. KSDBKL picked 190 points throughout the tournament to win the Cup.   ​Serdang Angels claimed the Plate title by beating Sahoca Reds 24-0. While in the Bowl category, NS Wanderers edged Platinum Bulls 22-12 in the final. MARDAN MAMAT CLAIMS FIFTH ASIAN TOUR TITLE AT BANGLADESH OPEN

​Mardan Mamat was inspired by his wife's special message as he posted a two-under-par 69 to cruise to a two-shot victory at the US$300,000 Bashundhara Bangladesh Open on Saturday.   The 47-year-old completed a wire-to-wire win with a 14-under-par 270 total to win his fifth Asian Tour title and lift the unique trophy which was designed in the form of Bangladesh's national animal, the Royal Bengal Tiger.   Khalin Joshi of India shot a 68 to tie for second place alongside Korea's Soomin Lee, who posted a 67 at the Kurmitola Golf Club for their best result on the Asian Tour so far.      The day belonged to Mardan, who kept calm and composed in the heat. His overnight three-shot lead was reduced to one stroke after he bogeyed the fourth hole but he steadied ship with a pair of birdies from hole five before adding another birdie on the 12th hole. JDT BEAT AYEYAWADY TO REACH AFC CUP SEMIS

​​​AFC CUP: Johor DT 5 – AYEYAWADY UNITED 0   Johor Darul Takzim confirmed their place in the AFC Cup 2015 quarter finals after successfully beat Myanmar favorite Ayeyawady United 5-0 at Larkin Stadium in Johor on Wednesday. The Southern Tigers took an early lead in the second minutes after Mohd Safiq Rahim brilliantly slot the ball into the net through a defender legs after receiving a split pass from Jorge Diaz . The home side pumped the pressure on Ayeyawady defense but failed to find the score. The first half ended with JDT lead the game 1-0. ​​​JDT started to generate the game positively and quickly doubled the lead through Luciano Figueroa shot in 47th minutes. A solo move by Jorge Diaz in 60th minutes stretched JDT lead to 3-0 score. SEA GAMES 2015: MALAYSIA SETS MEDAL TARGET IN RUGBY

​​Malaysia's rugby sevens coach, Nik Safuan Ismadi confident that his team has what it takes to win a medal at the 2015 SEA Games in Singapore. Although Malaysian Rugby Union (MRU) President Datuk Wira Amiruddin Embi only wants the team to do their best, Nik Safuan believes that the combination of new and seasoned players will produce a good performance at the games.  ​Malaysia's best finishing at the SEA Games was silver at the 1995 edition in Chiangmai, Thailand. The last time rugby was held in the SEA Games was in Korat in 2007 and Malaysia finished fourth after losing to Singapore in the third-placing playoff. Eight countries – Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, Laos, Cambodia and Singapore – will compete in the Sevens competition at Choa Chu Kang Stadium. RIORDAN BEAT DONAHOO TO CLAIM PGM PORT DICKSON CHAMPIONSHIP

​New Zealand's Sean Riordan erased the heartbreak of missing the grade at the Asian Tour Qualifying School by closing with an even-par 71 to win his first Asian Development Tour (ADT) title at the RM200,000 (approx. US$60,000) PGM Port Dickson Championship on Saturday.   Riordan, who led the ADT event after the second round, endured a nervous finish as he signed off with a four-day total of 11-under-par 273 to snatch a one-shot victory over close friend Paul Donahoo of Australia at the Port Dickson Golf and Country Club .   The Malaysian trio of Shaaban Hussin, R.Nachimuthu and Kemarol Baharin shared third place together with Sweden's Oskar Arvidsson on 275 total at the PGM Port Dickson Championship, which is the 13th leg of this season's ADT Schedule. ​AIA CUP FRIENDLY : MALAYSIA SELECTION 1 – TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS 2   Harry Kane struck twice to wrap up a 2-1 win for Tottenham Hotspurs against Malaysia Selection at Shah Alam Stadium, yesterday. About 28,000 crowd turned up to watch the match and Harry Kane & Co did well to entertain the crowd with his fantastic goals. Tottenham took the lead in the 19th minutes after a shot by Thomas Carrol was bounced back to Kane and the sensational striker took a cool step to boot in the ball into the net. ​Malaysia Selection hit back with an equalizer through Thiago Junior Aquino header in 32nd minutes after receiving Indra Putra Mahayuddin free kick.
