ALL READY FOR MAYBANK MALAYSIAN OPEN

The Maybank Malaysian Open 2015 today hosted a special meet and greet with the Malaysian Contingent who will represent the country at the upcoming tournament. It was an inspirational gathering for the twenty-two players as they assembled together and received words of encouragement from Maybank's Chairman Tan Sri Dato' Megat Zaharuddin and President of the Malaysian Golf Association, Admiral Tan Sri Mohd Anwar Hj Mohd Nor.

Particularly impressive was 24-year-old Arie Irawan who exuded confidence following his recent victory in the PGM Maybank Players Championship and another win at last week's PGM Sime Darby Harvard Championship (ADT) as he believes he has every opportunity of being amongst the leaders on Sunday, "I am in good form and having played in many countries after completing my studies at Tulsa University followed by time in the UK, I have the additional advantage of playing at home and have targeted being in the top ten" he said.

It was a family affair for the Green brothers who whilst admitting to being competitive on the course, clearly feed off each other and are proud to be playing for a home crowd and are inspired by the huge support that they have received. Gavin elaborated on his all round experience in playing on the US Intercollegiate circuit, "It has taught me to play one shot at a time and I am targeting -4 every day, whilst expecting the winning score to be two shots better than last year at -20 ". There is much speculation that Gavin, who graduates from the University of Mexico soon after the Maybank Malaysian Open will be turning professional. Younger brother Galven who at 15 years is the youngest in the field and is determined to emulate his brother in the long term is not so ambitious this week but is hoping to at least make the cut.
