NAMCHOK SURVIVES PLAY-OFF TO WIN THE BOONCHU RUANGKIT CHAMPIONSHIP

Thailand's Namchok Tantipokhakul defeated countryman Chanachok Dejpiratanamongkol on the second play-off hole to win his second Asian Development Tour (ADT) title at the Boonchu Ruangkit Championship on Sunday. The 30-year-old Namchok, who held a five-shot lead heading into the final round, fired three birdies in his opening five holes but dropped a shot on nine to turn in 33. He stumbled with another double-bogey on 12 before trading two bogeys against a birdie in the next four holes. It was a crucial four-footer birdie putt on the last hole 18 which saw him close with an even-par 71 to force extra time with Channachok, who had returned with a 66, at the Rancho Charnvee Resort and Country Club . Thai hotshot Pannakorn Uthaipas won the prestigious Asian Development Tour (ADT) crown after closing with a three-under-par 68 to finish in tied-31st place at the season-ending Boonchu Ruangkit Championship on Sunday. Pannakorn, who held the Order of Merit lead heading into the season-finale, sealed the deal after his closest competitors Masaru Takahashi of Japan missed the halfway cut and American John Catlin finished outside top-three at the Rancho Charnvee Resort and Country Club . Pannakorn had a year to remember in 2017 where he notched one victory and four top-10s to cap a season's haul of US$55,859 on the region's secondary circuit, which was launched in 2010 as a gateway to the Asian Tour . Gavin Green made history by becoming the first Malaysian to win the Asian Tour Order of Merit after an intense 12-month battle with several of the region's best golfers. Shubhankar Sharma of India won the Joburg Open in sensational style on Monday and punched his ticket to The Open in 2018. Kiradech Aphibarnrat underlined his status as Thailand's number one golfer by lifting the Thongchai Jaidee Foundation trophy for the second time at the Siam Country Club 's Waterside course on Sunday. Singapore  displayed a great performance to win the Asia Rugby Championship Division II. They beat Thailand 38-13 in an exciting finale at the Taipei Municipal Stadium on Sunday. Singapore stormed into the final after a 49-0 win over India , and Thailand beat host Chinese Taipei to set-up the mouth-watering final. The victory means the Republic are back in Division 1 of the championship. Thailand gave a good fight early in the game. Chinese Taipei beat India 37-19 to claim a third place finish in the Asia Rugby Championship Division II. India gave a good fight before going down to the tournament host at the Taipei Municipal Stadium . India stunned the local crowd with a good first half performance. Prince Khatri and M ohit Khatri tries gave India a good 14-10 advantage after 30 minutes into the game. Marc Marquez finished third at the season-ending Valencia race to claim his fourth MotoGP title in five years. The 24-year-old Honda rider, who beaten Andrea Dovizioso for the crown, is the youngest rider to win four titles in the class. JOHN CATLIN CLOSES IN STYLE AT THE PGM EURASIA PERAK CHAMPIONSHIP

American John Catlin carded a five-under-par 67 to secure his first wire-to-wire victory and second Asian Development Tour (ADT) title, following the final round of the PGM EurAsia Perak Championship on Saturday. The 26-year-old Catlin, who won his maiden ADT title in 2016, traded seven birdies for two bogeys for a winning total of 16-under-par 272 and a seven-stroke triumph over Australian Martin Dive (279) at the RM200,000(approx.US$44,600) ADT event. Catlin started the round in slow fashion and lost his one stroke lead when he three-putted his first hole and made bogey. He soon found his momentum with two birdies on holes four and five before dropping a shot on the sixth to turn in 36. Poosit Supupramai of Thailand claimed a sensational victory at the inaugural Defence Raya Golf Championship after closing with a three-under-par 69 on Sunday. Italian rider, Andrea Dovizioso claim a dramatic win in 2017 Malaysian MotoGP race which was held at Sepang yesterday. The Ducati Corse rider keep his MotoGP world title hopes back on track after current motogp leader Marc Marquez had to settle in the fourth place. Starting on pole position, Dovizioso fell back early with number of riders appeared to struggle with a rain-soaked track. American Cristie Kerr holed a 36-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to close out a thrilling final round and win the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia by one shot. After a dropped shot by Kerr on the 17th, it looked as though the tournament was heading for a four-way play-off together with Danielle Kang , Jacqui Concolino and Shanshan Feng , but the seasoned pro showed her class to make the putt and claim the winner's cheque of US$ 270,000. Kerr carded an even-par 71 for the round which included four birdies, two bogeys and a double-bogey on the par-3 seventh.   Fan favourite Feng was also unable to break par on a course that she has so dominated over the years. Thai talent Panuphol Pittayarat completed a total of 25 holes on Sunday to claim a commanding five-shot victory for his maiden Asian Tour title at the weather-hit Indonesia Open . The 24-year-old Panuphol returned in the morning to finish the remaining seven holes from his third round where he signed for a five-under-par 67 to lead by three shots heading into the final round. England's Justin Rose produced one of the greatest comebacks in golfing history by overcoming an eight-shot deficit to win the WGC-HSBC Champions on Sunday. The Olympic gold medalist started the day tied for fourth with world number one Dustin Johnson of the United States seemingly in a commanding position as he was six clear at the start of the day. The day however took a dramatic twist with Johnson struggling to get his game going. Kasidit Lepkurte of Thailand maintained his composure to close with a two-under-par 70 and win his first Asian Development Tour (ADT) title at the PGM MIDF Championship on Saturday. The 26-year-old Kasidit, who held a three-shot lead heading into the final round, traded three birdies against one bogey to win by three shots on 12-under-par 276 total at the Templer Park Country Club. Thailand's Pannakorn Uthaipas , who had led the first two rounds, matched Kasidit's efforts of a 70 to settle for second place at the RM250,000 (approx. US$55,000) ADT event. Shariffuddin Ariffin emerged as the highest-placed Malaysian after marking his best round of the week with a 66.
