LYDIA KO WINS LPGA AUSTRALIAN OPEN

New Zealand world No 1, Lydia Ko beat Amy Yang of Korea by two stokes and bagged the Australian Open crown which was held at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Melbourne Australia on Sunday.

Ko finished her final round with two-under 71 to claim her victory with total nine under 283. Amy Yang settled in second after carding one-under 72 to go seven under 285 on the final day. Trailed in third place was Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand with four under 288.
 
The game was suspended for 90 minutes due to lightning and Amy took the lead with a birdie in hole nine and almost settle with an eagle in 10 but the ball just circled around the hole. Amy ended the 10 with one more birdies.
 
Amy failed to hold the game after Ko managed to level with two birdies and the South Korean squandered the chances after bogeys at hole 15 and 17, which left the title challenge out of her sight.
 
While the joy for Lydia after being crowned for the world No 1 earlier of this month still in large, The celebration continues as she also become the youngest ever to win the Australian Open tournament.
