KEDAH BAG OPENING WIN IN AGONG'S CUP

Kedah kicked-off their Agong's Cup 2017 campaign with a win over ATM at Jugra on Saturday. The northern Malaysian side displayed a good performance to claim a 12-10 victory over eleven times Agong's Cup champions. Both teams were equally good in the first half. However, ATM got the advantage with a penalty in the 39th minute. Shafee Buhanalis made no mistake to give his team a narrow 3-0 lead at the break. Kedah came into the second half with stronger determination. They piled the pressure on ATM and earned two penalties. Mohd Fairuz Ab Rahman scored both and Kedah were ahead with 6-3 ATM got a try in the 74th minute through Lailatul Norazlee Shaari , and Mohd Azwar Hassan scored the conversion. Kedah did not surrender and increased the pressure on ATM. Two late penalties scored by Mohd Fairuz handed his team a perfect start in this year Agong's Cup campaign. DANNY CHIA WINS CIMB NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN PLAY-OFF

Danny Chia secured his sixth appearance at the prestigious CIMB Classic after defeating rising star Gavin Green with a birdie on the second hole of a sudden-death play-off at the CIMB National Championship on Friday. The overnight leader battled to a final round of three-under-par 69 at TPC Kuala Lumpur after overcoming an early triple bogey with eight birdies for a tournament aggregate of eight-under-par 280. Trailing by three at the start of the day, Green forced extra time with a glorious 66 highlighted by seven birdies. NATTAWAT FENDS OFF LOCAL CHALLENGE TO WIN PGM DARULAMAN CHAMPIONSHIP

Thailand's Nattawat Suvajanakorn fended off the stiff local challenge by firing a flawless seven-under-par 65 to earn his maiden breakthrough on the Asian Development Tour (ADT) at the PGM Darulaman Championship on Saturday.   Nattawat's winning total of 16-under-par 272 secured him a three-shot victory over local heavyweights Danny Chia and R. Nachimuthu who signed off with a 66 and 68 respectively to share second place at the RM200,000 (approximately US$44,600) Asian Development Tour (ADT) event which is jointly sanctioned with the Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM).   Overnight leader Liu Yan-wei of China, who could have become the first Chinese player to win on the ADT had he won, closed with a 70 to finish in fourth place at the Darulaman Golf and Country Club.   Starting his final round one shot behind Liu in second place, Nattawat made his swift charge with two birdies in his opening three holes. KEDAH BEAT PENANG IN BATU KAWAN

LIGA SUPER: PENANG 0 - KEDAH 2 Kedah managed to collect three full points after beating host, Penang with 2-0 score at Batu Kawan Stadium, last Saturday. Played in front of 15 000 supporters, both team looks caution in attack and could only settle a tied of 0-0 in the first half. Entering to the second round, Penang put more pressure in attack through Faiz Subri . Penang's lack of finishing and great form Mohd Farhan Abu Bakar ensured Kedah safe from the danger. Kedah finally led the match after Penang's goal keeper Amirul Asyraf failed to clear the ball from Sandro Mendoza free kick. LIGA SUPER: PAHANG 2 – MELAKA UNITED 0 The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) decision to suspend the services of Pahang's coach,  Dollah Salleh  for 18 months has not taken any impact on Pahang's performance. The Tok Gajah squad defeated Melaka United with 2-0 score at Darulmakmur Stadium in Kuantan, Pahang on Saturday. AMRI HELPS RED GIANTS TO BEAT JDT

PIALA MALAYSIA: SELANGOR 3 – JOHOR DT 2 Selangor showed their potential in the 2017 Malaysia Cup competition after edging Johor DT 3-2 at Selayang Municipal Council Stadium on Wednesday. Selangor took a 1-0 lead through Mohd Fairuz Abdul Aziz in the 33rd minutes. Mohamad Amri Yahyah makes it 2-0 for The Red Giants after receiving a fine pass from Forkey Doe . After taking the 2-0 lead, Selangor played defensively and JDT took over to control the game.  Second half resumed with some changes in JDT line-up. PENANG STUN MELAKA UNITED AT HANG JEBAT STADIUM

LIGA SUPER: MELAKA UNITED 2 – PENANG 3 Melaka United Liga Super campaign appears to be in jeopardy after being knocked-down by Penang with 3-2 score at Hang Jebat Stadium, last night. Faiz Subri put Penang in front with a fine finish after collecting a ball from a clumsy safe by Penang goal keeper Mafry Balang in the fifth minutes. Marco Simic put a cheer to the home fans 30 minutes later after the Serbian converted a penalty to tie the score 1-1 in the first half. Mark Hartman put the visitors back to the front with a deadly volley in the 53rd minutes. Seven minutes later, Faiz Subri had his free kick hitting the crossbar and S. Kumaaharan  headed the ball into the net for Penang third goal. KERIS CONLAY CLAIM THIRD TITLE AT ELITE 7'S

Keris Conlay Rugby Club claimed their third title of the year with victory over Panthers Blowpipes in the Elite 7's final on Sunday. After winning the MRL Premier and Malaysia Rugby Championship in April, the Elite 7's is the icing on cake for in their victorious season. Keris Conlay made it into the final after beating Bunga Raya Juniors 33-5 in the semifinals, while Panthers Blowpipes defeated NS Wanderers 33-7 in another semifinal match. Keris Conlay did not face much problem in the final as they cruised to victory with a 26-5 score. Bunga Raya Juniors beat NS Wanderers 35-5 to claim the third place finish. FRC Dingoes won the women category after beating Singapore Selects 10-5 in the final. MOBITEL EAGLES WIN SRI LANKA SUPER 7'S

​ Mobitel Eagles won the Sri Lanka Super Sevens despite losing the second leg cup final at the Racecourse Rugby Ground in Colombo on Sunday. Ezy Wolves won the final 26-12, but Mobitel Eagles emerged as the overall champions based on total points collected from the two-legged tournament. The Eagles collected a total of 55 points for winning the first leg in Kandy and runners-up in Colombo, while the Wolves finished second with 43 points from the two legs. Softlogic Warriors and Access Kings share the overall third place as both team completed the championship series with 34 points. In the Colombo leg, Mobitel Eagles qualified to their second successive final after beating the Etisalat Panthers 33-24 in the semi-finals. WANG WEI-LUN CLINCH CHARMING YEANGDER ADT TITLE

Wang Wei-lun of Chinese Taipei erased the heartbreaks from two play-off defeats over the last two years by claiming his first Asian Development Tour (ADT) title at the Charming Yeangder ADT on Sunday. Wang, who started the round with a one-shot advantage, closed with a two-under-par 70 to win by two shots on 14-under-par 274 total at the Linkou International Golf and Country Club , a regular host venue on the Asian Tour. The 23-year-old Wang was tied for lead with countryman and playing partner Wang Tsung-chieh heading into the 18th tee before an errant approach shot saw Tsung-chieh stumbled out of the title race with a bogey while Wang sank a one-footer for birdie. PIALA MALAYSIA: NEGERI SEMBILAN 3 - T-TEAM 3 Negeri Sembilan wasted a golden opportunity as they were held to a 3-3 draw by T-Team in a Malaysia Cup Group A match. The home side were in a comfortable lead before T-Team fought back towards the end. In front of the home fans, Negeri Sembilan took an early lead just after four minutes when Bruno Suzuki scored after a fine one-two play with Lee Andrew Tuck . Then Jonathan Behe doubled the advantage in the 23rd minute after receiving a good cross from Tuck. T-Team turned the pressure on Negeri Sembilan after the break. PIALA MALAYSIA: KUALA LUMPUR 0 - PERAK 3 Three times Malaysia Cup champions, Perak continued their fine run in the campaign with an away win over Kuala Lumpur yesterday. The Bos Gaurus hammered the home side 3-0 in a Group B match at Selayang Stadium. Kuala Lumpur managed to keep the clean sheet in the first half. However, Perak came on stronger after break and Kuala Lumpur could not hold them anymore. Gilmar Jose Da Silva opened the scoring in the 59th minute. PIALA MALAYSIA: PERAK 2 - PKNS FC 0 Perak put themselves on the right track in the Malaysia Cup campaign by claiming their first win. The Bos Gaurus beat PKNS FC 2-0 in Ipoh on Tuesday. It was not an easy match for Perak as seen on the scoreboard. PKNS played a solid game and it took 80 minutes before Perak could find the net. Thiago Junio Aquino headed in from a corner kick by Zaquan Adha Abd Radzak to give the home side the lead. Tirawat Kaewsiribandit of Thailand battled through a back injury to claim a stylish three-shot victory at the Betagro All Thailand Championship on Sunday. The 27-year-old posted a flawless six-under-par 64, thanks to three closing birdies, to defeat countryman Suradit Yongcharoenchai (66) for his first Asian Development Tour (ADT) title at the Laem Chabang International Country Club . Tirawat's winning total of 23-under-par 257 earned him US$13,262 and six Official World Golf Ranking points. The victory also moved him to fourth place on the ADT Order of Merit . LIGA SUPER: SELANGOR 4 - T-TEAM 2 Selangor earned three valuable points in the Super League after beating T-Team 4-2 at Selayang Stadium. It is their fifth win in 14 matches and remained at 8th position in the league table.  The win did not comes easy for the home side. Both team failed to find the net in the first 45 minutes despite plenty of opprtunities. Muhammad Syahmi Safari broke the duck for Selangor after eight minutes into the second half.
