NEGERI SEMBILAN, PULAU PINANG SHARE POINTS

Negeri Sembilan and Pulau Pinang shared points after their Liga Super match at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Seremban ended with a 1-1 draw. The home side opened the scoring in the 31st minute. Japan's Shunsuke Nakatake fired a powerful free kick to beat Muhammad Hazrull Hafiz Zulkifly . Both teams tried to get more goals but failed to find the net. Pulau Pinang came back stronger after the break. They were more organized and increased the pressure on Negeri Sembilan. The equalizer finally came in the 67th minute. Argentinian star, Julian Bottaro tapped in a perfect pass to level the score. As Negeri Sembilan were searching the winner, Aroon Kumar Ramaloo was given the marching order for a second yellow card in the 89th minute. The score remained until the final whistle.

COBRA CLAIM FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON

Cobra Development Team displayed another impressive performance in the Malaysia Rugby League (MRL) Division One. After holding ATM JLJ to a draw last week, the young Cobra side showed fearless attitude to secure their first win this season. They beat Edwardian Tigers 30-20 at Bellamy field on Sunday. Cobra looked organize from the start and got their first try in the 3rd minute through Mohamad Nazhiim Shahruddin . Edwardian Tigers equalised in the 18th minute through Muhammad Khairul . Cobra pulled away in the 36th minute with another converted try and scored a penalty to take a 15-10 half time lead. It was almost the same after the break. Cobra went on and score another two tries through Muhammad Afiq Zamizan and Simolo Aca . Edwardian Tigers also got tries from  Muhammad Ismail Nordin and Muhammad Zulkifli Md Rani . However, Ahmad Amirul Zulfiqar 's successful conversion and penalty gave Cobra the advantage. It is a second consecutive defeat for the Tigers

HIGH FLYING BLACKHAWK HAMMER SILVER GAURUS

RMAF Blackhawk continued their good run in the Malaysia Rugby League  (MRL) Division One with a huge victory on Saturday. The Air Force showed no mercy towards Silver Gaurus as they went on to win the match 83-0. The Blackhawks scored eight tries in the first half. Alekesio Vakarorogo , Azmi Bohan , Muhammad Alif Adha Zabri , Taufik Azmee , Redzuan Mohd Sharif , Atunaisa Livanalagi and Walter Muyang jointly delivered 47 points before the break. Silver Gaurus could not find a way to stop the flying opponents. Five more tries by M ohd Ependi Petra Misran , Mohd Syafeezudin Ariffin and Atunaisa sealed the win for RMAF Blackhawk. Flyhalf Atunaisa scored four tries in the match which put his team as favourite to go for the title. MERSING EAGLES COME FROM BEHIND TO BEAT NS WANDERERS

Mersing Eagles staged an amazing comeback to beat NS Wanderers 38-26 in the Malaysia Rugby League (MRL) Premier Division on Sunday. The Eagles were trailing Wanderers 13-16 after the first half before turning the score around at the UPM rugby field. NS Wanderers got a better start with three successful penalties by Muhamad Amirul Aqil Kamsol , and a try by  Muhammad Izhar Ismail.   Jahangir Khan Majith scored two penalties and a conversion, and a try by Ahmad Paris Haziq Rashidi kept Mersing Eagles' chances alive. Mersing Eagles finally found their game after the break. Three tries by Waqaliva Jone Vucukula , Nas Affie Mohd Salleh , Apolosi Tuiloma Tanoa and a successful penalty by Jahangir sealed the game for the Eagles. UITM LIONS BEAT SSTMI TSUNAMI IN MRL OPENER

UiTM Lions started their 2019 Malaysia Rugby League  (MRL) campaign with a win. The Lions beat SSTMI Tsunami 43-15 at UPM Rugby Field in Serdang on Saturday. UiTM Lions showed a lot of determination as they scored three tries in the first half through Iowane Teba , Lepani Likusuasua and Are Monoka . SSTMI kept themselves in the game with two tries from Muhammad Khalil Azman and Adam Arrif Ilias . Are Monoka scored a hattrick of tries after the break before Muhammad Firzuan Hamdan completed UiTM Lions impressive win. SSTMI Tsunami got a try in the second half but was not enough to deny the Lions from claiming the season opening victory. BLACKHAWKS BEAT KL TIGERS IN BELLAMY

RMAF Blackhawk claimed their first win of the season after beating KL Tigers in Malaysia Rugby League (MRL) Division One match on Saturday. The Blackhawks took the advantage of playing at the Bellamy Ground on Saturday to secure a convincing 34-7 victory over the Tigers. Blackhawk opened the scoring just after two minutes into the game. A try by Atunaisa Livanalagi followed by Mohd Suhaimi Ismail 's conversion put them into the driving seat. Alekesio Vakarorogo got another coverted try in the 12th minute to wake up the Tigers. KL Tigers got their first try in the 16th minute to keep their chances alive. Two more tries in by Alekesio and Atunaisa gave Blackhawk a comfortable 24-7 lead at the break. Both teams were quite stubborn in the second half. However, the Blackhawks managed to get two more tries in the 70th and 77th minutes. NWAKAEME RETURNS GIVE PAHANG OPENING WIN

Pahang got a good start in the new season of Liga Super with a convincing 3-1 victory over Kuala Lumpur . The Elephants did not face much problem against the City Hawks as Dickson Nwakaeme showed an amazing comeback to M-League with two goals. Pahang opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when Indonesian winger Saddil Ramdani scored his first goal for the club. Pahang took control of the game and Nwakaeme started to show what has been missing from Pahang after 2015. Kuala Lumpur brought in Afiq Ahmad Razali after the break and the youngster got the equaliser in the 48th minute. However, three minutes later Pahang went ahead again. Nwakaeme capitalised on a goalkeeper’s spill to give the Elephants a 2-1 lead. The goal seemed not enough for Nwakaeme as he kept going forwards. MALAYSIA RUGBY LEAGUE IS BACK

The Malaysia Rugby League (MRL) is back and local fans will be entertained with top class rugby starting on 16th February 2019 until 24th March 2019.  Sixteen top rugby clubs in Malaysia will compete in the two divisions championship. All the matches will be played at UPM Serdang and TUDM Bellamy field on every weekends. Keris Conlay will be the favourite again to defend the title which they have won in the last edition. For the record, Keris Conlay had won the title three times from seven final appearances. ASAS RC can be a strong challenger despite losing to Keris Conlay in the 2017 final. UPM Serdang Angels , UiTM Lions , NS Wanderers and SSTMI Tsunami are expected to be the tough opponents in the Premier Division. They are capable to create upsets and clinch the title too. Two times champions, Cobra Rugby Club will be playing in the Division One. They will face strong opponents like Polymas Hornets , KL Tigers , Silver Gaurus and Blackhawks . Malay
