ALEXANDER BJORK SEALS BREAKTHROUGH WIN AT THE VOLVO CHINA OPEN

Alexander Björk became the first Swede to lift the prestigious Volvo China Open trophy after he closed with a bogey-free seven-under-par 65 to win by one shot at the Topwin Golf and Country Club on Sunday. The 27-year-old Björk, who started the round one shot back, rolled in seven birdies for a winning total of 18-under-par 270 and claimed his maiden title on both the Asian Tour and the European Tour in the CN¥20,000,000 (approx. US$3,178,000) event. Björk endured an anxious wait before his victory was confirmed after overnight co-leaders Matt Wallace of England and Adrian Otaegui of Spain failed to eagle the par-five 18th hole to force a play-off. He took home a winner's prize purse of CN¥3,333,330 (approx. US$526,400). Otaegui birdied the last to sign for a second straight 67 and finish in second place on his own. Wallace settled for a 68 following a closing par to share third place with countryman Jordan Smith (64) and Jorge Campillo (67) of Spain on 272. A

LEBANON CLINCH ASIA RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP DIV III WEST TITLE

Lebanon bagged the Division III West Asia Rugby Championship title after beating Iran 29-17 at Fouad Chehab Stadium. Iran did not go down easily as they showed a good performance in the first half to keep the score tied at 10-10 before the break. However, they were down to 14 men after a player was given the red card for a high tackle. The Lebanese Phoenix took the advantage well in the second half before taming the Iranians with a 29-17 victory. Iran were in the final after defeating Qatar 17-8, while the Phoenix hammered Jordan 62-3 in the semis. SELANGOR ESCAPE KUALA LUMPUR TEST TO REACH FA CUP SEMIFINALS

FA CUP:  SELANGOR 0(3) - KUALA LUMPUR 3(3) Selangor reached the Malaysia FA Cup Semifinals after beating Kuala Lumpur in penalty shoot-outs. After losing 3-0 in the first leg, Kuala Lumpur scored three times in 90 minutes to equalise the aggregate and the winner has to be decided through spot kicks. It was unfortunate for the C ity Hawks as Selangor won 8-7 to move into the next stage. Kuala Lumpur had a good start in the return leg as Zaquan Adha opened the scoring just after 15 minutes into the game. Paulo Josue made it two in the first half injury time to put the City Hawks in a good position for a comeback. Selangor came back after the break struggling to stop Kuala Lumpur. Syazwan Andik Ishak found the net for the third time for Kuala Lumpur to keep their chances wide open again. The Red Giants just could not get the goal this time. MARC MARQUEZ WINS SIXTH CONSECUTIVE MOTOGP GRAND PRIX OF THE AMERICAS

Marc Marquez and  Repsol Honda collected their sixth consecutive win at the Circuit of the Americas . The Spaniard dominated the race to finish 3.5 seconds ahead second place, Yamaha 's Maverick Vinales . Suzuki 's Andrea Iannone took the third place behind the two Spanish riders. After the incident with and Valentino Rossi at the Grand Prix of Argentina , Marquez served a three-spot grid penalty and went on to ride a clean and well-executed race. Andrea Iannone took accelerated to take the lead when the lights went out, but the Italian didn't have enough to hold his position. Marquez took over the lead after turn 12 and left the rest with his Honda. Maverick Vinales started at pole position squeezed past Iannone on lap seven to finish second, and teammate Valentino Rossi had to settle for fourth place. PERAK BLOW CHANCES, MAKE WAY FOR PKNS FC IN FA CUP

​ FA CUP: PERAK 2(3) - PKNS 2(4) PKNS FC held Perak to a 2-2 draw in Ipoh and secured a place in the Malaysia FA Cup Semifinals. After a 2-1 win in Shah Alam in the first leg match, PKNS FC went all out to deny the Bos Gaurus from stealing away the slot in the last four. The first forty-five minutes saw both sides defended well and remained scoreless. However, PKNS were more dangerous after the restart. Rodney Celvin Akwensivie found the net in the 55th minute to make it more difficult for the home side. A successful penalty in the 64th minute by K. Gurusamy killed-off Perak's chances. Perak tried to bounce back with two goals by Nor Hakim Hassan and Nasir Basharudin in the last twenty minutes. But not enough to stop PKNS from qualifying into the next stage. GANGJEE ENDS 14-YEAR TITLE WAIT WITH VICTORY AT THE PANASONIC OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

India's Rahil Gangjee ended his barren run that stretched over a decade by closing with a three-under-par 68 for a one-shot victory over Korea's Hyungsung Kim and Junggon Hwang at the Panasonic Open Golf Championship on Sunday. Gangjee admitted he had self-doubts after not being able to enjoy much success since his last Asian Tour win in China in 2004. However, it was his sheer will power that brought him back into the winner's circle after enduring years of frustration. Despite the immense pressure on 18, Gangjee managed to hit his bunker shot out to within 10 feet of the pin. The 39-year-old would go on to sink that decisive birdie and win his second Asian Tour title with his four-day total of 14-under-par 270 at the JP¥150,000,000 (approx. US$1,370,000) event that is sanctioned by the Asian Tour and Japan Golf Tour Organisation (JGTO). PKNP FC STUNNED FELDA UNITED TO GRAB SEMIFINALS SLOT

FA CUP: FELDA UNITED 1(2) - PKNP FC 2(2) PKNP FC sneaked through into the Malaysia FA Cup Semifinals after a 2-1 victory over Felda United . The visitors got two away goals, thanks to Shahrel Fikri Fauzi 's brace which had taken them into the last four. After losing in in the first leg at Batu Kawan, PKNP FC traveled to Jengka to overhaul the 0-1 deficit. They pressed the home side and Shahrel found the net after 15 minutes into the return match. Wan Zack Haikal regained the advantage for Felda United with a good strike nine minutes later. However, PKNP did not give-up and played well on an unfamiliar ground. Two minutes before the end of the first half, Shahrel beat the goalkeeper again for his second of the night. Felda United tried to come back in the second half, but PKNP FC held on until the final whistle. A very frustrating night for Felda United as they threw away their advantage on their own pitch. UPM ANGELS POWER TO VICTORY AT MELAKA SEVENS

UPM Serdang Angels lifted the Chief Minister Cup after winning the Melaka 7's on Sunday. The Angels defeated RMP Blues 26-10 in the final at the Dataran Klebang in Melaka. The Blues made it to the final after beating MMU Hornbills 14-7 in the quarterfinals and Kuantan Palmyras 19-0 in the semifinals. UPM Serdang Angels beat XMoruc A in the quarters before defeating PMM Hornets 25-0 in the last four. PMM Hornets claimed the third place as they won their last match against Kuantan Palmyras. XMoruc A edged MMU Hornbills 12-10 to claim the Plate, and UiTM NS bagged the Bowl after beating PDRM Melaka 21-14. In the Under-21 category, SSTMI defeated SJ18 26-0 to win the cup. Sukma Melaka team finished third after win over Hanelang . KRS Green secured the Plate after beating Sukma Wilayah 24-5. And Buttercookies defeated XMoruc to champion the Veteran category. PERAK BAG THREE POINTS FROM PKNP

LIGA SUPER: PKNP FC 1 - PERAK 2 Perak claimed their third victory in Liga Super after defeating PKNP FC at Batu Kawan Stadium on Sunday. The Bos Gaurus recorded a 2-1 away win to move-up into the top four of the table. Perak were quick to take control of the game. They pressured the home side early in the first half. Wander Luiz broke the duck in the 19th minute. Five minutes later, Nasir Basharudin doubled the lead for the Bos Gaurus. PKNP came on after the break trailing the visitors with two goals. They were improved and able to stop Perak's threat. Shahrel Fikri Fauzi gave them a life line with a goal in the 81st minute. However it was not enough as Perak held on until the end of the match. Perak moved into fourth place, while PKNP remained at ninth place in Liga Super. PKNP have only won twice this season from six matches played. RUGGER DISTRICT

TERENGGANU BEAT MELAKA UNITED AT HANG JEBAT STADIUM

LIGA SUPER: MELAKA UNITED 0 - TERENGGANU 3 Terengganu FC maintained their good form in Liga Super this season by claiming their third win of the season. They beat Melaka United 3-0 at the Hang Jebat Stadium on Saturday to stay in pursuit of the league leader, Johor DT. Melaka failed to shine in front of their home supporters as they could not find the net throughout the match. But Terengganu were quick to settle down with an opener by Tchetche Kipre in the 24th minute. The score remained until the break. Melaka returned in the second half to find the equalizer. But the Turtles ' defence were too hard to break. Kipre scored Terengganu's second goal in the 74th minute, before Lee Tuck added the third in the 80th minute. Terengganu moved to third place in the Liga Super table, having same points with Pahang. Melaka at 7th place after three wins and three losses, same points with Kedah.

CRUTCHLOW WINS AS MARQUEZ, ROSSI CLASH AT ARGENTINA MOTOGP

Cal Crutchlow claimed his third MotoGP victory in Argentina . The victory made him the first Briton to lead the championship since Barry Sheene in 1979. Reigning world champion, Marc Marquez had a messy afternoon by finishing 18th after being given a 30-second penalty in a race that was delayed by rain. Marquez started at the back of the grid for riding the wrong way down the track before the delayed start, and was given a ride-through penalty for a dangerous manoeuvre. He clashed with Aleix Espargaro and seven-time winner Valentino Rossi , sending Rossi off his bike. The Italian finished in 19th. Marquez approached the Yamaha garage after the race, presumably to apologise to Rossi, but was ushered away by team staff without speaking to the 39-year-old. FIJI WIN 4TH STRAIGHT HONG KONG 7S BEATING KENYA IN FINAL

Fiji beat Kenya 24-12 in the final to clinch their fourth consecutive Hong Kong Sevens title. They scored four tries against Kenya to claim their third victory of the season, and moved within just three points of series leaders, South Africa  in the overall standings. The Pacific islanders took a 17-0 lead at half-time after Kenya's Collins Injera and Willy Ambaka were given the yellow card. Kenya made an attempt for a comeback after the break, but Fiji were flying and cemented their reputation as the Hong Kong Sevens Specialist. South Africa claimed the bronze medal after beating New Zealand 29-7 and Argentina beat USA 14-12 to secure fifth. The Challenge Trophy winners were France , beating Canada 33-7. Amri Yahyah was the man of the match for his involvements in all the goals during the crucial Klang Valley derby match. The 37-year old forward played an incredible game to build a comfortable advantage for his team in the return leg next week. Both team had a fair share of possession in the first 20 minutes. Singapore's Johnson Poh broke through on the Asian Development Tour (ADT) in sensational style when he romped to a four-shot victory at the PGM Johor Championship on Saturday. The 26-year-old dominated the event after shooting a sensational seven-under-par 65 to defeat Sweden's Malcolm Kokocinski , who settled for second following a 67 at the RM225,000 (approximately US$58,000) event held at Palm Resort Golf and Country Club . TWO MALAYSIANS AT INTERNATIONAL YOUNG SPORTS REPORTERS TRAINING CAMP

Suffi Sahar and Amir Hazree from Tigers Super Sports (TSS) were selected to represent Malaysia at the International Young Sports Reporters Training Camp this week. The training camp which is organised by Hong Kong Sports Press Association (HKSPA), are held in Hong Kong and China from 31st March to 10th April 2018. Being members of the Sportswriters Association of Malaysia (SAM), the two young photographers were chosen by their agency to join 54 other media personnel from 15 countries. The camp is part of cultural exchange projects between HKSPA and SAM, which emphasize in training and developing the skills of young talents in journalism. Kwok Ka Ming (FIFA), Brian Ching (Red Bull), Nazvi Careen (SCMP) and Wendy Hon Yuk Ha (TVB Sports World) are some of the experienced people in the media industry, will give lectures and practical trainings to the participants. Both Malaysians will be trained in Rugby, Golf, Football, Lacrosse, Cricket, 2020 Olympics new event, Sports Climbing.

NS WANDERERS CLINCH NEGERI SEMBILAN RUGBY LEAGUE TITLE

NS Wanderers defeated IJED RC in the final to win the Negeri Sembilan Rugby League . The Wanderers had to use all their experience to overcome the stubborn opponents before clinching the title at the KGV Georgian Green in Seremban. The cup final was a very entertaining clash. Both teams were playing in the Malaysia Rugby League 2017 and are equally very good. IJED were in the final after they beat SORAC RC in the last four, while NS Wanderers beat Gunners RC to set-up the nail-biting finale. NS Wanderers took the lead in the first half through Amir Shafiq Maddhiah 's try. IJED gave a good fight but the score remain until the break. The second half was more interesting as both teams improvised their games. IJED finally found the equalizer with a converted try by Muhammad Mustafa A. Wahid . NS Wanderers could not break the energetic opponent, but kept-on pressuring them. Two successful penalties by Danial Azhar Roslan lifted them up to the championship.

ASAS RC SINK PPTD PATRIOTS TO WIN PUTRAJAYA RUGBY TITLE

ASAS Rugby Club won the Putrajaya Rugby League after defeating PPTD Patriots 19-8 in the cup final. It was a sweet revenge for the Alam Shah Oldboys who had lost to the Patriots in the group stage two weeks ago. The first half of the cup final at the Alamanda Rugby Field was very tight. Both sides had difficulties to take the lead. However, PPTD Patriots managed to break the duck in the 28th minute with a well taken penalty by Ammil Aizat Jasmi . The score remained until the break. The chances were still wide open for both in the second half. ASAS RC looked more confidence right after the match was resumed. They got a try in the 41st minute through Amirul Aiman Ihsan , and Mohd Hazreen Harun made no mistake to score the conversion. PPTD Patriots were back in front after a try by Muhammad Othman Danial .
