LYDIA KO WINS LPGA AUSTRALIAN OPEN

​ New Zealand world No 1, Lydia Ko beat Amy Yang of Korea by two stokes and bagged the Australian Open crown which was held at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Melbourne Australia on Sunday. Ko finished her final round with two-under 71 to claim her victory with total nine under 283. Amy Yang settled in second after carding one-under 72 to go seven under 285 on the final day. Trailed in third place was Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand with four under 288.   The game was suspended for 90 minutes due to lightning and Amy took the lead with a birdie in hole nine and almost settle with an eagle in 10 but the ball just circled around the hole. SOUTHERN TIGERS GET PERFECT START IN AFC CUP

AFC CUP: JDT 4 - EAST BENGAL 1 JDT coach, Bojan Hodak was the happiest man on Tuesday night as JDT beats East Bengal FC without the regular trio import players, played in the opening fixtures Group F of AFC Cup in Johor, Malaysia. Hodak proved that his young players have that quality to compete in the international level after thrashing the AFC Cup 2013 semi-finalist 4-1 in the 90 minutes match. ​Nazrin Nawi of JDT put the home team infront in 9th minute of the match from free kick and equalised by the visitor team in 34th minute via Ranti Martins . LAHIRI IS THE NEW INDIAN HERO

​​India's Anirban Lahiri won his second title in three weeks after defeating countryman S.S.P. Chawrasia on the first play-off hole at the US$1.5 million Hero Indian Open on Sunday. The 27-year-old, who was seven shots off the pace at the start of the day, fired a two-under-par 69 as overnight leader Chawrasia struggled in the blustery conditions to return with a disappointing 76 at the challenging Delhi Golf Club .   Both players finished on seven-under-par 277 in regulation play and returned to the 18th hole where Lahiri sealed the win with a birdie from inside 10-feet. Chawrasia's title hopes faded when his tee shot landed under thick branches. The victory was Lahiri's seventh Asian Tour title and second European Tour win. FELDA UNITED BEAT ATM TO GO ON TOP

​MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: FELDA UNITED 2 - ATM 1 Felda United leaped to the top of the Super League as Perak and Kelantan fumbled in their matches on Saturday night. The Fighters proved that they are a strong contender in the current season after beating ATM 2-1 at the Selayang Stadium. ​​Edward Wilson Junior brilliantly scored a rebound from Indra Putra 's attempt in the 14th minute to give Felda United the lead. Ahmad Syamim Yahya doubled their lead 12 minutes later after heading in a free kick by Edward Wilson from outside the penalty box. The goal ensured Felda moved past Perak on goals scored with both teams tie on seven points and with the same goal difference. ​ ​But the Gladiators new signing Norshahrul Idlan Talaha reduced the deficit in the 34th minute. SELANGOR HOLD JDT IN SHAH ALAM

​ ​MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: SELANGOR 1 - JOHOR DT 1 It was all square after the first meeting between Selangor and Johor DT in the 2015 M League season. Super League champions, JDT arrived in Shah Alam looking for a victory after losing to PDRM last week. Some fans also considered the match as a contest between the current Red Giants against their old boys, based on the number of ex-Selangor players in the opposite colours. ​However, the Red Giants stunned their visitor with an early strike by Andik Vermansyah . The speedy Indonesian striker took the opportunity from the unsettled JDT defence.   ​The Southern Tigers created many chances but have to wait until the second half of the match to level the score line. KUALA LUMPUR FALL TO DRB HICOM IN TANJUNG MALIM

​​​MALAYSIA PREMIER LEAGUE: DRB HICOM 1 - KUALA LUMPUR 0 DRB Hicom collected full points at the Tanjung Malim Stadium after recording a narrow win over Kuala Lumpur on Friday. The City Boys arrived with their best eleven against the newly promoted club but failed to break the disciplined DRB boys. The home side showed great determinations against their opponent giving no space for Kuala Lumpur move around the unfamiliar Tanjung Malim ground. Mohd Fakhrul Aiman finally found the net in the 22nd minutes after receiving a clearance from Kuala Lumpur's goalkeeper Badrol . The DRB striker sent a wonderful lob right into the visitor's goal. Kuala Lumpur tried to rise after the goal, but DRB did not break. They held on tightly and secured three valuable points from the match. CHAWRASIA TAKES TWO SHOTS LEAD INTO INDIAN OPEN FINAL

​S.S.P. Chawrasia pulled two shots clear from title holder Siddikur Rahman after shooting a third round two-under-par 69 at the Hero Indian Open on Saturday. The popular Indian, who leads on 12-under-par 201, dropped his first shot in 52 holes on hole 17 but remains in prime position to win his third title at the Delhi Golf Club .   Siddikur, a two-time Asian Tour winner, birdied the last hole for a 70 to give his title defence a lifeline at the US$1.5 million event sanctioned by the Asian Tour and European Tour. Australian Marcus Fraser carded a bogey-free 67 to sit in third place, five shots off the pace, while Daniel Chopra made a brilliant eagle three on the 18th hole for the day's low round of 65 to share fourth place alongside Prayad Marksaeng (69) of Thailand.   Home favourite Anirban mounted a brief charge before dropping several shots on the back nine to settle for a 70 to tie for sixth place with Paul Peterson of the United States on a 208 total. UITM LIONS BITE COBRA IN HARD FOUGHT MATCH

​MRSL: COBRA 22 - UITM LIONS 27 A magnificent comeback in second half ensures UITM Lions clinch a sweet victory against rugby powerhouse COBRA at UPM rugby field in Serdang on Saturday. ​COBRA took early charge from the start after Sae Faalupega try sent the ex-champion in front. UITM bounced back to equalize the score with a try by Muhammad Danial Noor Hamidi and Anwarul Hafiz Ahmad completed the circle with a conversion for UITM to takeover the lead. COBRA back into the lead with Mohamad Amin Jamaluddin penalty two minutes later while Khairul Imran Kamaruddin replied for UITM with a try in 16th minutes to stay close. ​Mohamad Izzat Laila converted three penalties within ten minutes followed by a try two minute before half time to ensure COBRA taking a full control before Anwarul put a relief for UITM with a drop goal in injury time which saw UITM trailed the game after the first half with 15-22.  Not that COBRA were able to reduce the advantage, UITM makes six changes. KSDBKL FINALLY FALL TO MALAYSIA POLYTECHNIC

​MRSL: KSDBKL 20 - MALAYSIA POLYTECHNIC 24 Malaysia Polytechnic stunned KSDBKL with 24-20 win in a hard fought match at UKM rugby field on Sunday. Vatiliai Tora put KSDBKL ahead in the eighth minute through penalty while Malaysia Polytechnic fought back to take charge through Muhamad Izzuddin Moharam try followed by Mohd Amir Aswad conversion three minutes later.  ​​KSDBKL not giving up easily as Vatiliai Tora managed to break Malaysia Polytechnic defense and settle it with a try while Aisea Aruma add two more points through conversion in 16th minutes. ​MRSL: RMAF BLACKHAWKS 15 - MERSING EAGLES 19 Mersing Eagles grabbed an important 19-15 win over RMAF Blackhawks in the Malaysia Rugby Super League match on Saturday. The Air Force gave a good fight, but southern team proved to be more superior in the clash at the UKM rugby ground. It took the Eagles 23 minute to break the Blackhawks. A try by Leone Baleibaram Nawalu gave his team the lead. The Blackhawks responded with a try by Mohd Hazuwan Zakeri just three minutes later. ​Both teams were equally strong in the first half, but the Eagles started to show their actual strength early after the break. Mohd Amirul Azamuddin got a try two minutes after the match resumed, and Muhammad Faiq Asyraf scored the conversion. ​Blackhawks replied with a try from Elia Demesio five minutes later before Muhammad Zuhairi Ahmad equalised from the spot. ​​SUPER LEAGUE: SIME DARBY 0 - FELDA UNITED 3 Felda United showed their true potential after beating Sime Darby in their second Super League match. The Fighters showed their true potential by collecting full points from the match. Sime Darby could not fine the right approach against the confident Felda players. They conceded the first goal of the match in the 11th minute as Mohd Redzuan Harun could not save Ahmad Syahmim Yahya header from a corner kick. ​​Down by one goal, Sime Darby tried to pick-up their game. Felda United took full advantage on Sime Darby's inability to find the right rhythm. Makeche Ndumba doubled the score as he collected a good through pass from Syahmim and beat Mohd Redzuan in the 14th minute. Sime Darby returned for the second half in a more organised approach. ​Australia's Andrew Dodt staged a dramatic fight back with a closing five-under-par 67 to lift the inaugural True Thailand Classic presented by Black Mountain trophy on Sunday. MALAYSIA'S F1 CONTRACT EXTENSION WILL BE KNOWN BY MARCH

​Sepang International Circuit (SIC) chairman, Tan Sri Mokhzani Tun Dr Mahathir told reporters that the extension of Malaysia's Formula 1 (F1) contract will be known at the latest by March 29. ​Speaking at the launching of the 2015 Petronas Malaysian GP , Mokhzani said expressed his optimism that the contract will be extended even though SIC was still in talks with Formula One Management on the matter. The Malaysian F1 will be held from March 27-29 at the SIC near here. The ceremony saw the unveiling of the winners' trophies which were specially made by Royal Selangor Pewter. WILSON CHOO CAPTURES FIRST TITLE IN LANGKAWI

​Malaysia's Wilson Choo earned his breakthrough on the Asian Development Tour (ADT) when he claimed a one-stroke victory at the PGM LADA Langkawi Championship on Saturday. Choo, who led the first two rounds, fired a closing six-under-par 66 for a winning total of 18-under-par 270 at the Gunung Raya Golf Resorts, becoming the second Malaysian after Arie Irawan to win on the ADT this season. Overnight leader Micah Lauren Shin of the United States marked his best performance on the ADT by signing for a 69 for a runner-finish while Singapore's Lam Chih Bing took third place on 272 following a 68 at the RM200,000 (approximately US$60,000) ADT event. Choo was a very relieved man after battling tooth and nail with his spirited rivals who piled the pressure on him all day. ​MRSL: KSDBKL 18 - SERDANG ANGELS 8 KSDBKL meteoric performance in the KRM Super League competition has rising up as the City boys grab another victory at UPM rugby field in Serdang on Wednesday. The 2015 NICC champion outclassed the home team Serdang Angels with 18-8 score and has secured another three full points from the match to stay comfort in Group B. ​Vatiliai Tora opened the score for KSDBKL in fifth minutes with a penalty but the home team replied with Muhammad Nazreen Fitri penalty seven minutes later. MARQUEZ RECORDS THE BEST TIME IN SEPANG

​Marc Marquez has begun the 2015 preseason in excellent form, preparing to defend his MotoGP title for the second consecutive year. After three days of intense work, the Repsol Honda rider concluded the final day with the fastest lap ever set at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia. The Spaniard once again demonstrated that he and the Honda RC213V will be hard to beat this season. Marquez recorded his best time on the 62nd of 63 laps, whilst his teammate Dani Pedrosa was 0.483s behind in fifth place. Pedrosa had a crash late on at turn nine without consequences. HRC have arrived at Sepang with numerous bikes for the factory riders and their test riders to use - 2014 machines for comparison and 2015 prototypes for development. Marquez's timesheet-topping best effort was 0.024s quicker than his fastest lap on the first day of testing last year. ROSSI STILL HAVING IT!

Valentino Rossi recorded the second best time (2'00.380) at the recent MotoGP winter test in Sepang, Malaysia. The Italian and his teammate Jorge Lorenzo rode similar YZR-M1 prototypes to those they tested in November at Valencia. Yamaha continue testing a shorter exhaust pipe, this time featuring a grill covering the air exit, with a view to avoid flame escapes and prevent the entry of gravel and debris. There was also a special new 'winter' helmet for Rossi featuring snowflakes and reindeers, neither of which are likely to otherwise feature at Sepang this week. Lorenzo was third fastest, 0.141s behind Rossi. Meanwhile Rossi and Lorenzo's Monster Yamaha Tech 3 colleague Pol Espargaro showed good pace in sixth despite an early light crash as he begins his second year in the premier class. KSDBKL CRUISE TO WIN OVER NS WANDERERS

​MRSL: KSDBKL 20 - NS WANDERERS 13 KSDBKL showed they are a serious title challenger in the current Malaysia Rugby Super League season by beating NS Wanderers 20 - 13. The Kuala Lumpur side took full control in both halves against the under strength Negeri Sembilan club. KSDBKL scored their first try of the match in the first minute through Kamimov Abduvorris . KSDBKL doubled their lead with another try by Nor Amirul Faiz in the 26th minute. ​NS Wanderers picked their first points from a penalty scored Aiman Fariz Tharmizy in the 37th minute. Both team went for the break with KSDBKL leading 10-3 over the Wanderers. NS Wanderer resumed the second half with a positive note. They got their first try through Muhammad Nazrin Nasir five minutes after the restart. And Aiman equalised the score when he completed the conversion. ​MRSL: SSTMI 60 - COBRA 19 ​Defending champion SSTMI Tsunami beat rugby powerhouse COBRA 60-19 to earn three value points at UPM rugby fields on Saturday . It only took SSTMI boys two minutes from the start to take charge after Mohamad Nur Azri bin Azmi open the score with a try and conversion to gave the southern's an early lead with seven points. Five minutes later Amirul Mukminin Bin Amizan stretched the gap with a try followed by conversion by Muhamad Faizal Md Tahir to gave SSTMI 14-0 lead. ​​Sae Faalupega reduce the deficit with a try while Muhamad Izzat Laila complete the cycle with a conversion minute later for COBRA to trail the game with 7-14.
