MICKELSON CAME FROM BEHIND TO WIN THE OPEN

Image
Phil Mickelson  wins British Open , as Tiger Woods and Lee Westwood faded on final day. The 43-year-old American birdied four of the last six holes to win the 2013 Open Championship at Muirfield . Mickelson finished at 5-under par for the final round and 3-under for the Open. He began the day five shots off the lead before surging ahead with his epic finish. By lifting the Claret Jug for the first time, Mickelson has won five career major championships. Mickelson had previously won The Masters on three occasions and captured the PGA Championship in 2005. At that point, Lee Westwood was the only golfer still on the course with a chance to match Mickelson. Unfortunately he didn't, bogeying the 16th hole and recording par on the 17th and 18th.

PKNS 's Patrick Ronaldinho was just 2 goals shy of Marlon's 16 goals triumph, and Selangor 's Forkey Doe has to be satisfied with just 10 goals in an injury hit season.   MSL 2013 Top 5 Goalscorers Marlon Alex James (ATM)   16 Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh   (PKNS) 14 Francis Forkey Doe (Sel) 10 Paulo Rangel (Prk) 9 Mohd Fauzi Roslan (Pah)   8 Photo: Tigers Super Sports l Report: Mint Hardy

PERAK TRIUMPH WITH AWAY WIN

Image
There were nothing much to play for in this last match. ATM looking to avoid lower than fourth in Malaysian Super League , and Perak trying to climb up to seventh. In front of 2000 odd fans, ATM failed to take the advantage of playing at their home ground. The Gladiators started the match with many missed chances. They had quite a number of opportunities against the unsettled Perak defence. However, after all the missed chances, both team completed the first half without any goal.  As the second half started, Perak seem to be more organized. Goal keeper Farizal Marlias played a marvellous game to deny the ATM attacks.  Perak finally broke the deadlock in the 75th minute. Paulo Rangel was brought down by ATM Affize Mamat while chasing a through pass. The ATM defender was then sent off by the referee for the foul. As the freekick was taken, another ATM player in the wall blocked the attempt with a hand, and a penalty was given. Rangel converted with ease. The m

THE RED WARRIORS WIN FA CUP

Image
Kelantan silenced their critics as they bounced back from poor form in the Super League to retain the FA Cup by edging Darul Takzim 1-0. They showed that money alone cannot buy success as they tamed big spenders at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil tonight. Mohd Norfarhan Mohd 's solitary strike in the 15th minute was enough for The Red Warriors to clinch victory. Captain Badhri Radzi was the toast of Kelantan as the midfielder's pin-point passes and great vision led to his side's win and a spot in the AFC Cup next season. As for Darul Takzim, the Johor side were hardly a threat as their strikers and midfielders failed to gel throughout the match. The energetic Kelantan side were all over the ineffective JDT side from the whistle and should have netted at least three goals in the first half. JDT got off on the wrong footing right from the start and it was no surprise that coach Fandi Ahmad made all three substitutions in the first half. National
