ROSSI SCORES STUNNING VICTORY IN MOTOGP OPENER

MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi claim his 109th Grand Prix victory and grabs the 2015 opening race victory with a thrilling finish at Losail International Circuit , in Qatar on Sunday. The Italian who started the race on the third row powered his machine to overtake Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso before claimed the victory. Trailed in second place was Andrea Dovizioso of Ducati Team with just 0.174sec behind and his teammates Andrea Iannone was in third with 2.25sec adrift. YOUNG SAMURAIS BEAT VIETNAM IN AFC QUALIFIERS

​AFC U-23 QUALIFIERS: JAPAN 2 - VIETNAM 0   Shoya Nakajima scored a double as Japan beat Vietnam 2-0 in their second AFC U-23 Championship 2016 qualifying match at the Shah Alam Stadium on Sunday. Japan proved their status as favourite for the championships from the start of the Group I second round match, giving Vietnam no space from the kick-off. ​The samurais launched continuous attacks while Vietnam struggled to stop the threat, and 22-year-old Nakajima opened the score in the 43rd minute. Nakajima and teammate Takumi Minamino combined to slot the ball past Vietnamese goalkeeper Phi Minh Long . Huynh Tan Tan of Vietnam nearly equalised just one minute later in a rare opportunity, but his shot went wide. ​After the break, things looked better for coach Toshiya Miura side as they limited Japan's attacks. HSIEH CHI-HSIEN TRIUMPH AT CHARMING YEANGDER ADT

​Chinese Taipei's Hsieh Chi-hsien prevailed in a four-way play-off after he triumphed on the fourth play-off hole to win the US$150,000 Charming Yeangder ADT on Sunday. Hsieh closed with a fourth consecutive 70 and was forced into extra time with compatriot and overnight leader Lin Chien-bing, Australia's Jake Stirling and American Greg Moss after the quartet tied on eight-under-par 280 total in regulation play at the scenic National Garden Golf and Country Club . After the quartet shot matching pars in the first extra hole, the 18-hole play-off saw Stirling bow out from the second extra hole following a bogey while Moss, Lin and Hsieh par. Lin then conceded defeat on the third extra hole after making par while Hsieh and Moss birdied. ​​AFC U-23 QUALIFIERS: MALAYSIA 1 - VIETNAM 2   Vietnam stunned Malaysia in the opening Group I match of the AFC Under-23 Championship qualifiers at the Shah Alam Stadium last night. The home side went down 1-2 and their Olympic hopes are now in tatters. Coach Razip Ismail's team started out brightly. Skipper Mohd Nazirul Naim 's free-kick in the 33rd minute gave Malaysia the lead. ​Vietnam responded brilliantly and took just five minutes to equalise. Vo Huy Toan beat Farhan after receiving a perfect pass from Nguyen Cong Phuong. And Vietnam took over the lead in the 43rd minute after Nguyen Cong Phuong beat Malaysian defenders to send the ball into the back of the net. Malaysia tried to get back into the game in the second half, but the visitor held on tightly to secure the valuable win. ​​In the another match earlier, Japan thrashed Macau 7-0. AMIN JAMALUDDIN JOINS HARBOUR HAWKS

​Cobra's Muhammad Amin Jamaluddin , or better known as Bonzer has arrived in New Zealand for a 4 months' probation before becoming an official player of Harbour Hawks Rugby Club . The former Bukit Jalil Sports School student had a successful season with Cobra after finishing as runners-up in the Malaysia Rugby Super League ( MRSL ). Bonzer may become the second player from the club to taste international success after Dinesvaran Krishnan who had just signed a new two years contract with Yamaha Jubilo club in Japan. Dineshvaran struggled in his first year in Japan but impressed in the 2014-2015 as he helped his club to win the All Japan Championships and finishing second place in the Top League. BGC ASIA PACIFIC DRAGONS GO BACK TO BACK IN SUDDEN DEATH

​ After a fantastic two days of rugby at the GFI HKFC 10s at the Hong Kong Football Club, the BGC Asia Pacific Dragons have lifted the 2015 Bill Burgess Cup for a back-to-back title win. The BGC Asia Pacific Dragons scored in sudden death in a dramatic Cup final at the GFI HKFC Tens, beating Tradition YCAC 12-7. In a finish that could not be scripted, the two best teams of the GFI HKFC Tens wrestled back and forth in the nerve-jangling final that was won in sudden-death extra-time by a sensational solo try from the tournament's equal top try-scorer Waisea Nacuqu . ​With Tradition YCAC and BGC APD tied on a converted try each after regulation time, the 10-minute extra time spell was just 40 seconds old when Nacuqu took the ball from a line-out, faked right and kept drifting right, running from just on the halfway to score in the corner. KERIS CONLAY WINS THE SUPER LEAGUE AFTER A PERFECT RUN

​MRSL FINAL: KERIS CONLAY 18 - COBRA 11   There were nothing sweeter for every Keris Conlay players and the fans on Saturday. The frustration from last year's final was finally turned into joy as the team beat Cobra 18-11 to clinch the prestigious Malaysia Rugby Super League title. However, the joy did not come easily for Keris Conlay in the toughest match of the season. Keris Conlay got a good start with a first minute try by Jone Marawa Nasalo . And Mohd Fairuz Abd Rahman did not waste the chance with his conversion.  ​Cobra played brilliantly to stop the flying Keris from making more tries. They got a try after the half hour mark through Mohammad Amin Jamaluddin but failed to convert the score. UITM LIONS GRAB THIRD PLACE IN SUPER LEAGUE

​MRSL: UITM LIONS 33 - SSTMI 28 UiTM Lions salvaged some pride after their good run in the Malaysia Rugby Super League by taking the third place in the championship. The Lions beat last year champions SSTMI Tsunami 33-28 at the UKM Rugby Stadium on Saturday. UiTM who were beaten by Cobra in the semi finals, took the lead in the 12th minute through Anwarul Hafiz Ahmad try. SSTMI tried to stop the speedy Lions but they were broken again with Amirul Sani try seven minutes later. Epeli Saukuru ensured UiTM carry a strong 12-0 lead with the conversion. ​SSTMI finally found the breakthrough in the 26th minute as Azam Fakhullah crossed the touch line. Muhamad Faizal Md Tahir made no mistake from the spot to reduce the deficit. However, the Lions were back in control with a try and conversion by Epeli Saukuru a minute before the break. JDT II BEAT KEDAH IN ALOR SETAR

​MALAYSIA FA CUP: KEDAH 0 - JDT II 1 Kedah failed to progress into the FA Cup quarter final after being knocked-out by JDT II at Darulaman Stadium on Tuesday. No goals were scored in the first half of the game despite an energetic performance by the home team. Baddrol Bahtiar missed an open chance in the 14th minute, and JDT II's best chance came in the 33rd minute but Leandro Sebastian was unable to find the back of the net, thus ending the match with no goals at halftime. ​JDT II showed a little improvement in the second half. More chances were created, but Kedah held on tightly. M uhammad Akram silenced Kedah fans with his long range attempt in 88th minutes to seal the victory for JDT II. Kedah tried to find the equalizer but JDT II were already in defensive strategy. Time ran out for Kedah, and JDT II passed the Darul Aman test. SO YEON RYU PIPS INBEE PARK TO WIN WORLD LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP

​So Yeon Ryu came from a shot back in the final round to win her first World Ladies Championship title Sunday, beating overnight leader and defending champion Inbee Park by one shot in the European Tour tournament. Ryu, the 2011 U.S. Women's Open champion, trailed fellow South Korean Park by a shot ahead of the final round on Mission Hills' Blackstone Course. Park led by three strokes when Ryu double-bogeyed the par-4 seventh, sending her tee shot into black lava rocks and taking a penalty drop. The 24-year-old Ryu responded with three birdies in four holes from the ninth. Both Ryu and Park failed birdie attempts on the 18th before Ryu tapped in a par putt from two feet to win. Ryu closed with a 4-under-par 69 at Mission Hills in Hainan, denying Park (71) her chance at back-to-back victories. PENANG QUALIFY TO FA CUP QUARTER FINALS

​​MALAYSIA FA CUP: NS MATRIX 1 - PENANG 2 NS Matrix failed to take the advantage of playing on their home ground after losing to Penang 1-2 at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium on Tuesday. Despite taking an early lead, the home side could not deny the Panthers domination. Just three minutes after kick-off, Shahrizal Mohd Saad put NS Matrix in front after a good one-two play with Francis Forkey Doe . The goal boosted the team's confidence, but Penang was also quick to react on the early setback. Alberto Goncalves Da Costa was brilliant to beat NS defenders and launched a powerful shot to beat goalkeeper Mohd Helmi Eliza in the 12th minute. ​​Both team fails to add more goals and the result remain 1-1 until end of the first half. MALAYSIA TO FACE LIVERPOOL IN BUKIT JALIL

​ ​Liverpool FC have announced that they will be coming to Malaysia in July 2015 as the part of pre-season tour. The Reds will meet the Malaysian XI at Bukit Jalil Stadium on Friday, July 24. Liverpool legend Ian Rush and Robbie Fowler has promised a football feast for the fans and Malaysian selection. FAM general-secretary Dato' Hamidin Haji Amin has expressed his honoured and are greatly exited for the upcoming match. ​As for National coach Dollah Salleh , this match will be an opportunity in preparation for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers which schedule later this year. JDT HELD BY SIME DARBY

​​MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: SIME DARBY 1 - JDT 1 Sime Darby stunned star studded Johor Darul Takzim  after holding them at the Selayang Stadium on Saturday. The winless home side collected their first point in the 1-1 draw with last season Super League Champions.   ​Sime Darby took the lead in the 35th minute through Muhammad Nazrul Kamarulzaman . Nazrul tapped-in Nemanja Vidakovic effort just four minutes after he was introduced into the game to replace the injured Mohd Firdaus Azizul . JDT doubled their efforts in search of the equaliser but Sime Darby held on until the break. ​Bojan Hodak sent in Mahali Jasuli to provide more attacking options. LIONS BEATEN, COBRA IN SUPER LEAGUE FINAL

​MRSL: COBRA 34 - UITM LIONS 29 Group A champion, UITM Lions squandered their chance in making a history to play in the 2015 Malaysia Rugby Super League Final after losing to rugby powerhouse COBRA in a hard fought match at the UPM Rugby Field on Saturday.  UITM looked dangerous from the beginning after Amir Izzat Abd Samad put UITM infront with a try inside the first sixty seconds of the match. Sae Faalupega reduced the deficit three minutes later through penalty but Khairul Imran Kamarudin of UITM extended the lead with a try in 14th minute. COBRA fought back ten minutes later through Vatimio Rabebe try and Sae Faalupega completed the conversion for COBRA with conversion a minute later. The action did not stop there as Khairul Imran once again play his role in putting UITM back on track with a try in 36th minutes. ​MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: PERAK 1 - PDRM 3 PDRM came back from a goal down to clinch an away win over Perak in Ipoh. The 3-1 win sent The Cops to the second place in the Malaysia Super League . ​Perak took the advantage of playing on their home turf by taking the lead in the 46th minute through Nurridzuan Abu Hassan . However, PDRM showed their true determinations to do well in the Super League. ​​Dramane Toure scored the equalizer just a minute later. It was not enough PDRM, Ahmad Ezrie gave the visitors the lead with a goal in the 55th minute. Perak could not hold on anymore. They conceded another goal by Dramane Toure five minutes later. KERIS CONLAY STUN SSTMI IN SEMI FINALS

​MRSL: KERIS CONLAY 43 - SSTMI 35 Keris Conlay stunned SSTMI at UPM Rugby Field with a 43-35 victory in the semi final match of the Malaysia Rugby Super League . Tournament favourite SSTMI good run in the MRSL ended by the energetic Keris Conlay players. Keris Conlay showed an early sign for a strong challenge as they got the first try in the 7th minute through Waisiki Ramatau . Mohd Fairuz Abd Rahman made it 7-0 with the conversion. Mohd Firdaus Abd Manan gave Keris Conlay another try four minutes later, and Mohd Fairuz added on with a penalty in the 16th minute. ​ ​SSTMI got a penalty in the 18th minute and Muhamad Faizal Tahir did not make mistake from the spot. PANUWAT MUENLEK WINS PGM TERENGGANU CHAMPIONSHIP

​Thailand's Panuwat Muenlek secured his maiden Asian Development Tour ( ADT ) victory after closing with a three-under-par 68 to win by three shots at the PGM Terengganu Championship on Saturday. The 29-year-old Thai, who held a share of the overnight lead, fired six birdies against three bogeys to claim his first professional victory outside of Thailand on 11-under-par 273 total. Overnight co-leader Atthaphon Sriboonkaew, also of Thailand, battled to a 71 to share second place with countryman Itthipat Buranatanyarat, who carded a 68, at the Resorts World Kijal . Singapore's Lam Chih Bing (67) and Finland's Janne Kaske (68) shared fourth place on 277 while American Shane Smith and Masaru Takahashi of Japan took sixth and seventh place respectively after returning with matching 71s  at the RM200,000 (approximately US$55,400) event. JDTII-PKNS DRAW IN PASIR GUDANG

​MALAYSIA PREMIER LEAGUE: JDTII 2 - PKNS 2   Johor DT II wasted a good opportunity of playing a home match after being held for a draw by PKNS in Pasir Gudang on Friday. The home side were leading 2-0 before losing the cushion in the last eight minutes. JDT II had all the advantage to take three points from the match. Nicolas Delmonte gave JDT II the lead from a penalty in the 20th minute. The score remained until the break. ​PKNS had some good opportunities but failed to find the net. Shahril Ishak doubled the lead with a goal in the 73rd minute. As JDT II looked steady to cruise for a home victory, PKNS suddenly staged a late fightback. KERIS CONLAY SLASH EAGLES IN QUARTER FINALS

​MRSL: KERIS CONLAY 17 - MERSING EAGLES 5 Keris Conlay marched on to the Malaysia Rugby Super League semi finals after successfully beating Mersing Eagles 17-5 at UPM Rugby Field on Sunday. The 2014 runners-up were on cruise control from the moment Etonia Vaqa Saukuru opened the score in third minutes with a try followed by Mohd Fairuz Abd Rahman conversion a minute later. Keris Conlay strengthen the lead through Paulasi Kubu try in 17th minutes and Mohd Fairuz added two more points with his conversion. ​Mersing Eagles pulled back with Mohd Zaiheri Zumardi try in 35th minutes and the first half ended with Keris Conlay taking the lead with 14-5. ​MRSL: SSTMI 45 - KSDBKL 12 SSTMI swept aside KSDBKL fairytale run in the 2015 Malaysia Rugby Super League quarter-final match and march on to the semifinal with 45-12 score at UPM rugby field last Sunday.  Muhammad Faizal Md Tahir put the 2014 Champions in front in less then a minute through a penalty. The Southern team stretched further five minutes later through Mohamad Nur Azri Azmi try followed by Muhammad Faizal conversion a minute later. ​KSDBKL replied through Vatiliai Tora try in the 9th minutes but Mohd Nurazman Ramli try three minutes later put SSTMI back on track. ​MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: PAHANG 2 - SIME DARBY 0 Pahang scored a 2-0 victory against Sime Darby FC at the Darul Makmur Stadium. The Elephants displayed a good performance despite resting a number of important players. Pahang opened the scoring in the 45th minute through Zesh Rehman . The visitor tried to increase their game but Pahang was very steady in midfield and defence.  ​ ​The absence of Dickson Nwakame and Azamudin Akil did not stop Pahang's from giving a good show.  R.Gopinath gave Pahang their second goal in the 55th minute.
