PERAK WIN NATIONAL SEVENS SERIES WITH PERFECT RUN

Perak completed their perfect run in the NAZA National Sevens Series by claiming their third victory in three series in Ipoh, Perak. After winning in Melaka and Johor, they displayed their superiority in Rugby 7s to claim the overall champions title. Perak beat Johor 19-17 in the final and complete the series hattrick and lift the Ung Khek Cheow Trophy . Johor arrived in Ipoh with a promising form. They eliminated Kedah in the quarterfinals and beat ATM in the last four. However, Perak were more impressive playing on the Ipoh Padang. After having good runs in the previous series, the host team showed no sign of slowing down. They beat Selangor in the quarterfinals, and Kelantan in the semis. Johor had a good start in the final as they lead Perak until the last minute. But Perak did not want to upset their supporters. TERENGGANU WOMENS WIN NATIONAL SEVENS PERAK SERIES

Terengganu Womens team won the NAZA National Sevens 2018 after defeating Kedah 20-7 in the final. The East Coast team dominated the women category in Perak as they had also won the previous two series in Melaka and Johor. Coached by Firdaus Zakaria , Terengganu Womens were in a different class as they took control of every matches played. Kedah Womens could not stop the well-organized opponent in the final. Terengganu went into the final after beating Johor 27-14 in the semifinals. Kedah thrashed ATM 26-0 in the last four to set-up third consecutive final between the two teams. It is a sweet achievement for Terengganu's captain, Mona Tiara Izaniah Abd Rahman after losing in last year edition to the same opponent. Her team is now looking forward to maintain their good form for the upcoming Sukma  2018 in September. Terengganu also won the Men Qualifier category after beating Labuan 19-5 in the final. NEGERI SEMBILAN, SABAH WIN NATIONAL SEVENS U21 CATEGORY

Negeri Sembilan defeated Perak 29-21 in the final to claim the Men Under-21 category at the NAZA National Sevens . After losing many players due to injury, Negeri Sembilan marched into the final match in high spirit. They edged Kelantan in the semifinals, and Perak beat Labuan to confirm their spot in the final.   The Negeri Sembilan U21 team started-off positively and took a comfortable 17-7 advantage in the first half. They maintained good discipline and strong determination even without team captain, Wan Aiman Faiq who had a concussion in the earlier match. Coached by former national legends, Yusli Ramli , Farid Rahman and Irwan Abdol , Negeri Sembilan had no problem to overcome Perak in the second half. The win is a good sign for Negeri Sembilan as they have a bunch of good players for the future. MAKATI CHIEFS A WIN MANILA 10'S INTERNATIONAL RUGBY FESTIVAL

Makati Chiefs A emerged as the champions of the 2018 Manila 10s International Rugby Festival after defeating B2Gold Larrikins in the cup final. The Chiefs came out as the best from 24 teams at the San Lazaro Leisure Park in Carmona, and had no problem at all to beat their final opponent 53-0 to clinch the title. After having a good run on the first day of the tournament, Makati Chiefs A marched on by beating Manila Carabaos (45-0) in the quarterfinals, and Eagles RFC (27-0) in the last four. B2Gold Larrikins defeated Tush Burkeyz (21-7) in the quarterfinals, and RMDK Tigers (10-0) in the semis before making-up to the cup final. 24 teams from the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, south Korea, Japan, Fiji, Australia, New Zealand and United Kingdom competed in the 30th edition of the tournament. ANDREA DOVIZIOSO WINS MOTOGP OPENER IN QATAR

Italian Andrea Dovizioso won his first Qatar Grand Prix , the opening round of MotoGP 2018, which was hosted by Doha over the last three days at Losail International circuit . The Ducati 's rider came in first place after completing the 22 laps in 42 minutes 34.654 seconds. It is the Italian's first victory in Qatar after failing to win it the past three years, coming second on all three occasions. USA's Jeffrey Kang shot a sensational 8-under 64 – his second in three days – to secure a five-shot victory at the RMB 1. 5 million Chengdu Championship , the opening event on this season's PGA TOUR Series-China . Bouncing back from an opening 74, Kang posted a stunning 20-under total of 268 at Luxehills International Country Club after shooting 22-under in his last 54 holes (64-66-64). The Los Angeles-born 26-year-old, who speaks English and Korean, finished five clear of English duo Callum Tarren (69) and William Harrold (67), and Korea-born American Sejun Yoon (68). FA CUP: MELAKA UNITED 1(1) - KUALA LUMPUR 1(3) *Kuala Lumpur win penalty shoot-out Ahmad Solehin Mamat 's turned hero for Kuala Lumpur as he saved three penalties in Saturday's Malaysia FA Cup third round win over Melaka United . Kuala Lumpur battled with 10 men for an hour to hold Melaka 1-1 to the end of extra-time before winning 3-1 on penalties at the Hang Jebat Stadium . Yahor Zubovich headed in his eighth goal of the season just after four minutes into the match. However, Guilherme De Paula equalised for the visitors in the 31st minute. PERAK BEAT PULAU PINANG IN FA CUP THIRD ROUND

FA CUP: PULAU PINANG 1 - PERAK 3 Perak cruised into the Malaysia FA Cup quarterfinals after beating Pulau Pinang 3-1 on Saturday. The home side have been struggling in since 2015 to reach last eight could not stop the Bos Gaurus from progressing. Wander Luiz opened the scoring for Perak in the 18th minute after smashing smashing a high ball inside the danger area. The Bos Gaurus were solid in all departments making it hard for Pulau Pinang to find an equalizer. The Panthers had another setback when the referee awarded the visitor a penalty after Ugochukwu Ukah brought down Ahmad Khairil Anuar Ahmad Zamri . Gilmar Jose made no mistake from the spot to make it 2-0 in the 75th minute. Three minutes later, Wander scored his second goal of the night to confirm Perak's place in the quarterfinals. PKNP SEND KUANTAN PACKING IN FA CUP

​ FA CUP: PKNP FC 3 - KUANTAN 0 Kuantan FA were sent packing after losing to PKNP FC 0-3 in the Malaysia FA Cup third round match on Friday. Without their top hitman Zarko Korac , Kuantan could not overcome the well-organized home side. Both team were equally good early of the match. However, PKNP finally broke the duck in the 32nd minute. Skipper Shahrel Fikri headed into the net after receiving a pass from Hafiz Ramadan . Kuantan raised their game to find the equalizer, but PKNP's Ahmad Asyraaf Omar was at his best to stop all the goal attempts. PKNP pumped more pressure after the break. PERAK DOWN KEDAH TO WIN SECOND SERIES OF THE SEASON

Perak took another step closer to the NAZA National Sevens overall title after winning the second series in Johor. The winner of the first series in Melaka last week, beat Kedah 26-19 in the cup final, to keep their championship dream alive. Kedah had a good start and score the opening try, but then they were tied 12-12 at half time. Perak had a better second half. They scored two converted tries after the break to seal the match with a 26-19 victory. ATM claimed the third place after beating Kelantan 19-14. Series host, Johor defeated Negeri Sembilan 22-5 to take the fifth place. And Selangor finished at seventh place. Izzwan Mohd Idrus was very satisfied with his team performance. The victory gave them another 12 points to stay on top of the team standings with six points clear. MELAKA UNITED WIN THE BATTLE AGAINST PKNP

LIGA SUPER: MELAKA UNITED 2 – PKNP 0 Melaka United  sealed the third victory in the 2018 Liga Super  after overcoming PKNP FC with 2-0 goals, at Hang Jebat Stadium , last night. In order to maintain an unbeaten run at home, Melaka coach Eduardo Almeida has fielded a strong line-up against the club from Perak. Belarus striker, Yahor Zubovich put the host in comfort after 14th minutes as he scored from a through pass by G. Puvaneswaran . Zubovich almost stretch the gap for the home team but his attempt was well saved by PKNP goal keeper, Tian Keat See in the 23rd minutes. Melaka United defender, Nicholas Swirad missed his chance as his header flew just an inch away from the crossbar in the 43rd minutes. LIGA SUPER: KUALA  LUMPUR  4 – KEDAH 3 Kuala Lumpur survived a late scare to secure a 4-3 win against Northern powerhouse Kedah , at Kuala Lumpur Stadium yesterday in the 2018 Liga Super Malaysia competition. Forward, Zaquan Adha Razak put Kuala Lumpur in front in the third minute with a fine finish after beating Kedah's Khairul Helmi Johar and Ifwat Akmal Chek Kassim . Kedah's Spanish striker, Pablo Pallares put the game back to level term with a glancing header after receiving Liridon Krasniqi pass in the ninth minutes. MATT WALLACE WINS THE HERO INDIAN OPEN IN PLAY-OFF

Matt Wallace of England defeated compatriot Andrew Johnston at the first playoff hole to win the US$1.75 million Hero Indian Open on Sunday. The 27-year-old, who went into the fourth round with a one-shot lead with Shubhankar Sharma , started magnificently by scoring four birdies before making the turn. He made another birdie on the 10th and a bogey on the 16th before signing for four-under-par 68 at the Gary Player layout of the DLF Golf and Country Club . Johnston put in a bogey-free performance and forced a playoff with Wallace after carding a 66, the day's lowest score. Both golfers ended regulation play on 11-under-par 277 total. PKNS BEAT KELANTAN IN SHAH ALAM

LIGA SUPER: PKNS 1 – KELANTAN 0 PKNS FC bounced back into the Liga Super title race with a 1-0 win over Kelantan last Friday. The Red Ants were beaten 4-3 by Kedah in their previous match but showed positive attitudes to get back on track in their 2018 campaign. Both sides played attacking football from the start. Mohd Ghaddar almost gives Kelantan the lead in the 7th minute, but his effort was denied by PKNS's goalkeeper, Mohd Shahril Saari . PKNS also had an opportunity in the 13th minute, but Khairul Fahmi Che Mat saved a Faris Ramli 's goal attempt. However, five minutes before the break Faris finally broke the duck by scoring from Jonathan Acosta 's cross. Kelantan displayed more determination in the second half. They had a fair share of posession with the home side. However, K.Rajagopal 's back line were very organized and hard to break. They were solid to claim another three points at Stadium Shah Alam .

Malaysia FA Cup: Melaka United 7 - Southern FC 0 Melaka United easily sent Southern FC packing after a big 7-0 in the second round of the Malaysia FA Cup . The Liga Super side showed their superiority over the visitors with five goals in the first 45 minutes. Yahor Zubovich opened the floodgates in the 11th minute with a well taken penalty. R. Gopinathan doubled the lead in the 23rd minute with an easy finishing. Three minutes later, Gopinathan helped Zubovich to score their third goal of the night. PERAK TAKE TOP SPOT AFTER WINNING FIRST NATIONAL SEVENS SERIES

Perak clinched the National Sevens Rugby Championship Melaka Series after defeating Kedah 21-12 in the cup final. They got off with a good start to take a 7-5 lead at half time, and scored another two converted-tries after the break to seal the title. Izwan Mohd Idrus 's team showed consistency throughout the two days tournament at Hang Tuah Stadium in Melaka. Muhammad Hakim Abu Hassan of Perak was named as the best player of the series. Johor claimed the third place at the first series after beating ATM 28-7 in the deciding match. Kelantan finished fifth after a 43-5 win over Negeri Sembilan . Perak move to the top of the National Sevens Standings with 12 points collected from the Melaka Series. DANIEL NISBET STORMS IN THE FINAL ROUND TO WIN ISPS HANDA NEW ZEALAND OPEN

Australia's Daniel Nisbet staged an amazing comeback by overturning a six-shot deficit to clinch a deserving victory with a final round nine-under-par 62 at the ISPS HANDA New Zealand Open on Sunday. Overnight leader Terry Pilkadaris of Australia started out the day with a five-shot lead but could not extend his advantage further as his putting touch eluded him on the day that matters most at Millbrook Resort . Pilkadaris only had one birdie on 11 to show for on his card while Nisbet was simply in his element as he marked his card with six birdies and one eagle to cap his second professional win in stunning fashion. Malaysia FA Cup: Kuantan FA 7 - Axis O2 0 Kuantan FA cruised to the third round of the Malaysia FA Cup after thrashing Axis O2 7-0 at the UiTM Stadium in Shah Alam. Zarko Korac once again became the star for his team with another hattrick. Zarko netted two goals in the first 25 minutes, before Abdul Manaf Mamat added the third right before the break. Andrezinho continued the goal galore for Kuantan FA four minutes after the match resumed. Zarko completed his second hattrick of the season in the 60th minute. Terengganu Women  team beat Kedah Women  12-5 in the women category cup final to win first series of National Sevens Rugby Championship .
