WESTWOOD HITS A HOLE-IN-ONE, HURLEY TAKES THE LEAD

Billy Hurley III displayed a brilliant performance at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club to take a two-shot lead after the second round of the CIMB Classic . Hurley made six birdies on his front nine en route to a 5-under 67 that sent him to the top, two strokes ahead of American compatriot Kevin Streelman (68) in the jointly sanctioned PGA TOUR and Asian Tour event. Hurley, who played bogey-free in the opening round is chasing his first tour victory. He said the ability to withstand bad moments and handle the pressure of being in contention is the main thing he learned from three top-10 finishes last year. There are seven players sharing the third position at 7 under, including defending champion Ryan Moore (69) and Malaysian Open winner, Lee Westwood. A winner on the same course in April this year, Westwood recorded a hole-in-one en route to a 65 that moved him into contention for his second win in seven months. KARLBERG TAKES TOP SPOT AFTER CIMB CLASSIC OPENING ROUND

Rikard Karlberg opened his campaign the 2014 CIMB Classic in style as he finished 7-under 65. The Swede delivered a perfect performance at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club with seven birdies and no bogey. Birdies at the at the last two holes were sufficient to put him ahead of the rest before and after the tournament was delayed due to thunderstorms. Americans Billy Hurley III and Brian Stuard plus Angelo Que of the Philippines are sharing the second position with two strokes behind the leader. Stuard had five birdies on his front nine including four straight from the 14th after starting on the 10th, but also had two bogeys.  Que had six birdies on his first nine holes, benefiting from some superb approach play, and said greater trust in his shot selection had turned around his performance in recent weeks. LEE-ANNE PACE BAGS FIRST LPGA TITLE IN CHINA

​ Lee-Anne Pace bagged her first LPGA tour title by winning the Blue Bay LPGA at Jian Lake Blue Bay in China yesterday after the game was delayed on Sunday due to heavy rain. Fresh from winning the South African Open last week, the 33 year old golfer from South Africa were four strokes ahead with five more holes to play before the officials suspended the game due to darkness together with showers surrounding over the tournament area in the final day.   Pace finished the game with five-under 67 after making a 6-foot birdie putt at the 18th hole to complete the tournament with 16 under 200. Trailing from behind was Caroline Masson of Germany. She also birdied the final three holes for 67 but ended up with 13 under 203 to settle for second spot. MARQUEZ WINS IN SEPANG, ROSSI AND LORENZO ON PODIUM

A huge crowd of more than 80,000 fans witnessed a great Malaysian  MotoGP race with Marc Marquez winning for the first time since Silverstone – riding superbly at round 17 and coming from behind after dropping back from pole on the first lap. Marquez's victory is the 12th of his second season in MotoGP, equaling Mick Doohan 's record of most premier class victories in a single season. The result seals the premier class Constructor's title for Honda and ends a run of four Yamaha victories. Jorge Lorenzo took the early initiative in the race after a first crash by Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) who lost the front around Turn 15 while in second place. WORLD GOLF STARS ARE HEADING TO MALAYSIA FOR CIMB CLASSIC

​ Former World No. 1 Lee Westwood who has won a tournament in every continent, will be making his CIMB Classic debut on the back of a victory at KLGCC via the Malaysian Open earlier this year. With a total of 40 professional wins worldwide, Westwood is part of the victorious Team Europe in Ryder Cup 2014. ​ Returning to the CIMB Classic is eight-time PGA TOUR winner and world No. 3 Sergio Garcia . Garcia had three runner-up finishes on the 2013-14 PGA TOUR season including the Open Championship and the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational. ​ Ryan Moore will also try to defend his CIMB Classic title which he won here in 2013. ​ MALAYSIA CUP: JOHOR DT 3 - FELDA UNITED 1 Johor DT won with 6-5 aggregate. Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) overturned their first leg defeat to Felda United to set up Malaysia Cup final match encounter against Pahang next Sunday. After a slim 4-3 away loss in the first leg, the Southern Tigers were looking to do better at home against Felda United .  JDT had the service of midfielder Safiq Rahim , who had to sit out the first leg due to suspension. ​ Indian star Anirban Lahiri claimed a sensational one-stroke victory at the US$900,000 Venetian Macau Open after frontrunner Scott Hend of Australia agonisingly bogeyed the last hole on Sunday. Lahiri started the final round two shots behind overnight leader Hend and trailed by four at one stage at the Macau Golf and Country Club before rallying on the home stretch to pip Hend and Thailand's Prom Meesawat. ​ The 27-year-old Indian signed for a final round of five-under-par 66, which included six birdies, and a winning aggregate of 17-under-par 267. PAHANG THRASHED KEDAH FOR MALAYSIA CUP FINAL

​ MALAYSIA CUP: PAHANG 5 - KEDAH 0 Pahang won with 6-3 agregate. Pahang confirmed a slot in the Malaysia Cup Final , after defeating Kedah 6-3 in the semi-final second leg match in Kuantan yesterday. The Tok Gajah squad were having a goal fest on their home ground after scoring five goals. As expected, Pahang went all out from the kick-off finding the goals needed to overcome the 1-3 deficit from the first leg match in Alor Setar. Matias Ruben Conti turned on the fighting spirit for the home side when he headed in the opening goal in the 4th minute. Kedah tried to hang on, but Pahang doubled their lead when R. Gopinathan powerful shot beat Saiful Amar Sudar in the 25th minute. ​ MALAYSIA CUP: FELDA UNITED 4 - JOHOR DT 3 Felda United proved that they are capable to go all the way in the Malaysia Cup after defeating Johor Darul Takzim  (JDT) 4-3 yesterday. The ten men Fighters upset the star studded JDT in a thrilling semifinal match at Selayang Stadium. Edward Wilson Jr launched a stunning shot to give Felda United the lead in the 7th minute. Despite having strong support from their fans, JDT failed to rise up to their expectations. ROSSI WINS AUSTRALIAN MOTOGP

​ MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi won the Australian MotoGP at Phillip Island after taking advantage of a fall from champion Marc Marquez .  Marquez was on track for another victory when he hit the front from the start and set up a four second gap with less than 10 laps to go. Jorge Lorenzo and Rossi were left behind to fight it out for second and third positions. However, lady luck was not smiling on Marquez. The world champions lost control of his front wheel and came off his bike on lap 18 on a downhill stretch to end his chances of victory. He slid across the tarmac into a grassy area and made his way back to the pits, without any apparent injury. Rossi grabbed opportunity and flew away to win by 10.8 seconds from Spain's Lorenzo and British rider Bradley Smith. The win was the Italian's 82nd in MotoGP , the most by any rider. ​​ MALAYSIA CUP: KEDAH 3 - PAHANG 1 Kedah are just a step away into the semi-finals after grabbing a comfortable 3-1 win over Pahang in Darulaman Stadium yesterday. The Red Eagles were in front after Namgung Woong broke the deadlock in 8th minute after receiving a pass from Rizal Ghazali . HEND BEAT QUE TO WIN HONG KONG OPEN

​ Scott Hend became the first Australian to win the Hong Kong Open since Greg Norman in 1983 after beating Angelo Que of the Philippines in a playoff on Sunday. Hend and Que were tied at the end of the final round with 13-under 267 to force a playoff on the par-four 18th hole of the Fanling Course at the Hong Kong Golf Club . The Australian held his nerve to win on the first playoff hole with a par putt from five feet having watched Que bogey after failing to reach the green with his approach shot. The 41-year-old Hend started the final day with one shot behind sole leader Marcus Fraser of Australia who was on 11 under. ​ MALAYSIA CUP QUARTER FINAL: JDT 3 - TERENGGANU 1 JDT WIN 3-1 ON AGGREGATE Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) confirmed their place in semi-final of the 2014 Malaysia Cup after defeating Terengganu 3-1 at Larkin Stadium yesterday. Former national captain Safiq Rahim scored a brace to steer his team to join best four of the tournament. ​​ JDT put Terengganu under pressure from the start with their aggressive approach. MARC MARQUEZ CLAIMS SECOND IN A ROW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

​​ Marc Marquez bagged the MotoGP title for the second year in a row after clinching a podium finish in Japanese Grand Prix at Montegi on Sunday. Jorge Lorenzo claimed the victory in this race but it was Marquez who really showed an outstanding performance to seal the 2014 MotoGP championship after taking down his rivals although he started the race in second grid. Leading the standings with 312 points after 15 races, it's already late for the Spaniard nearest rivals Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa to deny Marquez's attempt with only left three remaining race to go. ​ AGONG'S CUP FINAL: SABAH 29 - TERENGGANU 10   Sabah is the new Piala Agong champions after defeating Terengganu 29-10 at the UKM Rugby Stadium last Saturday. The East Malaysian produced a powerful performance and gives Terengganu a very hard time. Terengganu started with a positive note when Mohamad Faiz Abdul Rashid scored an early penalty.  ​ However, Sabah bounced back strongly after that. ​ China's Shanshan Feng came from behind to win the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia on Sunday for her fourth LPGA Tour title, playing a six-hole stretch on the back nine in 6 under. The 25-year-old Feng, started the final day with four strokes behind and finished three shots ahead of overnight leader Pornanong Phatlum on the East Course of the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club . Feng made up for the disappointment of last week in China to dominate the final round of the tournament, shooting two birdies on the front nine, four on the back nine plus an eagle on the par five 17th. ​ Feng birdied Nos. 11-14 to tie Phatlum at 16 under and pulled away with a four-stroke swing when she holed a 10-foot eagle putt on the par-5 16th and Phatlum made a double bogey on the par-3 15th. ​ AGONG'S CUP (3RD/4TH): PAHANG 21 - KELANTAN 31 Kelantan clinched the Agong's Cup third place after beating Pahang 31-21 on Saturday. The match at the UKM Stadium was Kelantan's last opportunity to restore some pride in the 2014 Agong's Cup rugby championship. Kelantan was in high mood to win the match, but Pahang gave them an early scare. A try by Amirul Sani put Pahang in the driving seat after just eight minute. Mohd Fairuz Abdul Rahman scored the conversion. ​ Kelantan reacted positively from it. They got a try from Amirul Aiman and conversion by Muhammad Nazreen Fitri put them level with Pahang. ​ MALAYSIA CUP QUARTER FINAL: FELDA UNITED 3 - SELANGOR 3 FELDA UNITED WIN 7-3 ON AGGREGATE At Temerloh Stadium , Felda United become the first team to book a place in semi final stage of 2014 Malaysia Cup edition after edging Selangor with a 7-3 win on aggregate last Friday. ​ AGONG'S CUP (PLATE): JOHOR 13 - PDRM 16 PDRM won the Plate category in 2014 Agong's Cup after winning 16-13 in the Plate Final match. The win was a good consolation for the Police after displaying some good performance through out the tournament. PDRM took the lead in the 8th minute from a penalty by Tora . They doubled the lead in the 31st minute to lead Johor 6-0.  ​ Johor did not give up easily. They pressed PDRM hard enough to earn a penalty in the 33th minute. ​ Thailand's Pornanong Phatlum pulled out an unexpected three shot lead in the closing stages of Round Three of the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia today, to set herself up with the best possible opportunity to become the first Thai player to win an LPGA Tour tournament. ​ Phatlum shot a stellar round of six under par, including six birdies on the front nine followed by two birdies and two bogeys on the back, to card 65 on the par 71 course. She heads into the final round three shots clear of second placed Ayako Uehara who finished two under par for the day on 69. ​ Speaking after her round, the 24 year old from Chaiyaphum , said, "The front nine was amazing.  Like I made everything. RYU MOVES TO THE TOP AT SIME DARBY LPGA MALAYSIA

​ South Korean So Yeon Ryu displayed a great performance on the second day of the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia to take top spot with 2 strokes clear. The Canadian Pacific Women's Open winner carded 65 (-6) from seven birdies and a bogey. Her outstanding performance send her to the top of the chart at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC). ​ Overnight leader Stacy Lewis could only finish with par and dropped to 11th place. Lydia Ko, Jodi Ewart Shadoff, Eun-Hee Ji and Ayako Euhara were tied at second place with a total of 9 under 142.
