MERSING EAGLES SINKS ASAS RC AT BANGI


​MRSL: MERSING EAGLES 27 - ASAS RC 22

Mersing Eagles moved on in the Malaysia Rugby Super League with a narrow win over ASAS RC 27-22 at UKM field, on Sunday. Makiti Kotobalaug Turuva and Leone Baleibaravi Nawaly tries in the first half sent Mersing Eagles infront while ASAS replied with Atunaisa Takubu try and Mohamad Zharif Md Amir conversion which has ended the first forty minutes with 10-7.


​Both teams performed well in the second half with ASAS manage to take charge of the game, thanks to Hazim Fadilafadil try in 42nd minutes. Mersing Eagles reduced the deficit with Abdul Anaz Azwal penalty but a try from Atunaisa Takubu followed by a conversion by Muhammad Amirul Nazmi ensures ASAS regain the lead with 19-13 in 57th minutes.


​While the game looked to be a win for ASAS, Mersing Eagles dragged the game down to the wire after Leone Baleibaravi Nawaly try followed by Abdul Anaz Azwal conversion put the southern team ahead with 20-19. Mohamad Zharif Md Amir put ASAS back on track with penalty in 79th minutes but Joshua Barak Kiniviliame try followed by Abdul Anaz Azwal conversion in injury time ensures Mersing Eagles collected three valued points from the match with 27-22 score at UKM feild
