MRL PREMIER SEMIFINALS KERIS CONLAY 17 - UITM LIONS 7 Keris Conlay is just a win away from the Malaysia Rugby League (MRL) Premier title. The 2013 and 2015 Super League Champions will be gunning for the first ever Malaysia Rugby Premiership title next weekend. The Kuala Lumpur based club continued their fine run to beat UiTM Lions in the semifinals at UPM Serdang on Saturday. The semifinal clash between the two teams looked even in the first twenty minutes. However, Keris Conlay had more experience in their team to tame the young and energetic UiTM Lions. Mohd Fairuz Ab Rahman opened the scoring in the 23rd minute from a penalty. Just two minutes later, Jone Marawa Nasalo got the first try for Keris Conlay. Mohd Fairuz calmly scored the conversion for his team. UiTM Lions got back into the match with a try by Mohd Syahimi Abd Aziz in the 33rd minute. MRL PREMIER SEMIFINALS ASAS RC 35 - MERSING EAGLES 29 ASAS Rugby Club pulled-off an upset in the Malaysia Rugby League (MRL) Premier semifinals as they beat Mersing Eagles 35-29. The Putrajaya based club stunned the crowd in Serdang as they ended the Eagles unbeaten run in the MRL. Although Mersing Eagles took an early lead through Muhamad Khairul 's try after just eight seconds into the game, ASAS players stayed positive and got back into contention. Two tries by Kelevi Rokoua Ketedromo , Luqman Hakim , and a penalty by Luqman put them into the lead. Mersing Eagles replied with a try by Jone Vucukula and conversion by Jahangir Khan . Kelevi broke into the Eagles' try area again two minutes before the break and Luqman handed ASAS RC a steady eight points advantage at halftime. WORLD CUP QUALIFYING: SYRIA 1 - UZBEKISTAN 0 Syria claimed a vital 1-0 win over Uzbekistan after a successful penalty converted by Omar Kharbin in the dying minutes of the game. The win kept the war-torn country's hopes of advancing toward the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia alive. BEN LEONG CAPTURES PGM NORTHPORT CHAMPIONSHIP

Malaysia's Ben Leong endured contact lens discomfort on the front nine to close with a two-under-par 70, claiming his first Asian Development Tour (ADT) title by seven shots at the weather-shortened PGM Northport Championship on Saturday.   Leong, who started the round with an eight-shot advantage following a superb second round 62, lost his right contact lens before the round and had to use one of a different degree from his friend for his first nine holes at the Glenmarie Golf and Country Club .   The 31-year-old Sabahan obtained a replacement for his correct lens after making the turn and went on to complete a commanding wire-to-wire victory with a 20-under-par 196 total at the RM200,000 (approximately US$44,600) ADT event. SELANGOR RUGBY LEAGUE RHINOZ WARRIORS 12 - WATERMELON RC 3 Rhinoz Warriors maintained their good run in the Selangor Rugby League with a second consecutive win. After hammering Ansara 34-7 in their opening match, the Warriors came on to beat Watermelon RC 12-3 at Lembah Keramat, on Saturday. Rhinoz Warriors pumped the pressure on the Watermelons from the kick-off. Ahmad Nor Zhafran Che Pura gave the Warriors an early lead with a try in the 10th minute. Mohd Fahmy Ruslan made no mistake from the spot to score the conversion. Rhinoz Warriors went further ahead with another try by Muhammad Aliff Jamaluddin late in the first half. MRL DIVISION ONE FINAL SILVER GAURUS 33 - ATM JLJ DIRAJA 20 Silver Gaurus overcame the hard fighting ATM JLJ DiRaja in the Malaysia Rugby League Division One final. The Perak based club clinched the title after winning 33-20 over the army side in Serdang. Coach Mohamad Nazeer 's team got a great start in the final. Three tries and two conversions by Mohamad Nor Adol and Muhammad Harith Iqbal Muhamad Anhar in the first twenty minutes lifted Silver Gaurus with huge advantage. ATM JLJ responded with a try by Lailatul Norazlee Shaari and a succesful penalty by Farid Ahmad . But it did not stop the Gaurus from building-up the gap. A try by Muhamad Sayidi Sahrul and conversion by Muhammad Harith gave the Gaurus a 26-8 lead at halftime. ATM JLJ made a comeback attempt after the break. MRL DIVISION TWO FINAL NAVY ORCA 12 - TERENGGANU RT 8 Navy Orca became the first team to win the Malaysia Rugby League Division Two last Sunday. The Lumut based rugby club used their experience to beat the young Terengganu Rugby Team in the final at Serdang. Terengganu RT took an early advantage. Muhammad Faziemi Johari gave them the lead with a succesful penalty after just eight minutes into the final. The Orca were back in the game in the 17th minute as Khairilmizan Ishak broke into Terengganu RT's try area. Zulfadlee Ismail calmly scored the conversion to extend Orca's lead. Five minutes before the break, Mohd Saiful Izwan Rosli got another try for Navy Orca to take the half time advantage with 12-3 score. Both teams were more cautious in the second half. MRL PREMIER QUARTERFINALS KERIS CONLAY 20 - SERDANG ANGELS 15 Keris Conlay marched into the semifinals of Malaysia Rugby League  (MRL) Premier Division after defeating Serdang Angels in a weather interrupted match. It was rated as match of week as both team were finalists in last year's Super League . The officials had to stop the match twice due to lightnings and heavy downpour, but Keris Conlay powered through it to win their quarterfinal clash. Keris Conlay were quick to take control of the game. Ahmad Syazwan Shuid delivered the first try for Keris Conlay just five minutes after kick-off. Mohd Fairuz Ab Rahman made no mistake from the spot to score the conversion. Then, it was a moment of brilliance in the 8th minute as Mohd Fairuz stunned everyone with a drop goal. MALAYSIA FA CUP: PAHANG 2 - MELAKA UNITED 0 Pahang has met expectation by advancing to the quarterfinal of Malaysia FA Cup 2017.  The host defeated Melaka United 2-0 in the third round match at Darul Makmur Stadium . Pahang's goals came in the 15th and 85th minute of the match.  Their first goal was from a penalty spot which was finished by Jaewon Heo . Melaka United started the second half aggressively in efforts to level the score.  However, Pahang's goalkeeper, Wan Azraei Wan Teh was not easily be defeated. MRL PREMIER QUARTERFINALS MERSING EAGLES 43 - SSTMI TSUNAMI 25 Mersing Eagles good run in the Malaysia Rugby League Premier Division (MRL) this season continues as they beat another southern club, SSTMI Tsunami 43-25. The Eagles took complete control in the second half to win their quarterfinals match at Serdang on Saturday. Both team were almost equally good at the start. Apoloisi Tuiluma Tanda opened the scoring for Mersing Eagles just after 55 seconds into the game. Wan Mohd Asyraf scored the conversion, but SSTMI responded with a try two minutes later through Muhammad Aziem Badaruddin . Three tries by Jone Vucukula and Apoloisi, and a conversion by Wan Mohd Asyraf gave Mersing Eagles 24-5 lead. SSTMI Tsunami bounced back after twenty minutes. MALAYSIA FA CUP: PERAK 0 - KEDAH 2 Kedah won the northern derby of third round Malaysia FA Cup between Kedah and Perak in Ipoh Stadium last night.  Kedah were more dominating and organised throughout the match.  The host team instead were forced to work hard in countering visitor attacks. Zach Anderson put Kedah in front in the 27th minute of match.  Arising from a free kick taken by Sandro Da Silva .  Zach made a brilliant move to overcome Perak's tight defenders before headed past Perak's goalkeeper.  Three minutes before half time, Perak had once again penalised and this time via import player, Ken Ilse Larson . UITM LIONS BEAT ISKANDAR RAIDERS IN SUDDEN DEATH

MRL PREMIER QUARTERFINALS UITM LIONS 21(25) - ISKANDAR RAIDERS 21(21) UiTM Lions were dragged into sudden death before claiming their Malaysia Rugby League Premier Division semifinals spot. The Lions were tied 21-all against the tough Iskandar Raiders after regular time before Peceli Davobalavu made the decisive try in sudden-death extra time. UiTM Lions took the lead after seven minutes through Muhammad Hafiz Zainal Abidin 's try and Mohamad Sofian Mohd Kamil 's conversion. Iskandar Raiders responded with a try in the 18th minute by Asroy Alhamdu Tengkel Mohd Rizal . Azmi Saruman scored two penalties to give Raiders the lead after the half-hour mark. However, the Lions went into the break with 14-11 advantage after another try by Khairul Imran Kamarudin and conversion by Mohamad Sofian. MALAYSIA FA CUP: NEGERI SEMBILAN 4 - PULAU PINANG 1 Andrew Tuck of Negeri Sembilan scored a hat-trick to secure his team to the last eight slot in quarterfinal of Malaysia FA Cup 2017.  He scored in the 108th, 113th and 120th minutes in extra time thrashing Pulau Pinang at home.  Earlier in the first half, Negeri Sembilan was ahead in the 45th minute via Marko Simic .  He struck from the 35th meter to beat Pulau Pinang's goalkeeper, Syed Adney Syed Hussein . MRL PREMIER QUARTERFINALS NS WANDERERS 18 - ASAS RC 20 ASAS Rugby Club booked the first Malaysia Rugby League Premier Division semifinals spot after they beat NS Wanderers 20-18 on Saturday. The Putrajaya based club displayed a great performance to secure the victory at UPM Serdang field. NS Wanderers got off with a good start. They were 8-0 up with Samuela Tamanisau 's penalty and try inside the first 32 minutes. TERENGGANU RT TO FACE NAVY ORCA IN MRL DIVISION TWO FINAL

The Malaysia Rugby League Division Two final will see two top teams from coast to coast will battle for the title. It will be another interesting clash on Sunday as Terengganu Rugby Team will face Navy Orca after both team won their semifinal matches. Navy Orca confirmed their spot in the final after defeating VIOBA Blues 15-13 in the semifinal. The West Coast side displayed an amazing comeback in the second half after trailing the Victoria Institution Oldboys 3-7 at the break. Two tries and a coversion turned over the score into a final ticket to the Orcas. Terengganu RT beat UTP Drillers 13-0 in their semifinal match to reach the  Division Two final. It was a very tight affair in the first half as the East Coast club could only take a 3-0 advantage from Muhammad Amir Syakiq 's penalty. Silver Gaurus set-up a final clash against JLJ DiRaja in the Malaysia Rugby League Division 1. Both team won their semifinals matches at TUDM Bellamy Field on Sunday. The Perak based team did not had much problem against Beringin Rendang in the semifinals. They got a comfortable 14-0 at halftime before securing a 28-12 victory. JLJ DiRaja had a tougher evening before confirming their place in the final. They were 3-5 down against KL Tigers in the first half before fighting back to claim a 15-12 victory in the semifinals. MALAYSIA RUGBY LEAGUE: ASAS RC 19 - KSDBKL 7 ASAS RC confirmed their place in the Malaysia Rugby League Premier Division quarterfinals with another deserved win. They maintained their good run to beat KSDBKL 19-7 in their last group match. Livai Ikanikoda Metereti gave ASAS the lead after fourteen minutes before Epeli Vakalala scored the conversion. KSDBKL equalised in the 26th minute from Aisea Bici 's try and Iliesa Bari Momo 's conversion. Kelevi Rokoua Ketedroma restored the lead for ASAS with a try in the 34th minute, and Epeli gave them a 14-7 advantage at the break. KSDBKL tried to get back into the game but ASAS players were very solid at every area. Kelevi got his second try of the day in the 75th minute to send KSDBKL out of the knock out stage. MALAYSIA RUGBY LEAGUE: COBRA 10 - POLITEKNIK MALAYSIA 15 Cobra's unlucky run in the Malaysia Rugby League continued as Politeknik Malaysia earned a late win in Serdang on Sunday. Politeknik Malaysia stole the victory from Cobra with just two minutes left to play. Cobra got off with a good start as they took the lead in th 14th minute through Mohd Amin Jamaluddin 's try. Muhammad Saiful Azeem Shafie doubled the lead with another try five minutes later, but Mohd Syahir Asyraf Rosli failed to score on the conversions. Mohd Amir Aswad Mat Saad scored a penalty in the 30th minute to keep Politeknik Malaysia's chances alive. Politeknik Malaysia came on after the break with more offensive approach.
