ANDREA DOVIZIOSO WINS 2017 MALAYSIAN GRAND PRIX

Italian rider, Andrea Dovizioso claim a dramatic win in 2017 Malaysian MotoGP race which was held at Sepang yesterday. The Ducati Corse rider keep his MotoGP world title hopes back on track after current motogp leader Marc Marquez had to settle in the fourth place. Starting on pole position, Dovizioso fell back early with number of riders appeared to struggle with a rain-soaked track. The Italian rider steadily overtook his Ducati teammate, Jorge Lorenzo and firmly took the lead with six laps to go. Marc Marquez , who started from the third row was in under pressure to wrap up the championship tussle. The Spaniard once moved up to the third which the race is led by Johann Zarco but could not maintain his spot after Dovizioso overtake him on Lap 14. Dovizioso finished 0.743s ahead of Lorenzo followed by Johann Zarco who wrapped up for the third place with 9.738s behind. PSNK-JOBS WIN TAIPING 10'S RUGBY TOURNAMENT

PSNK-Jobs showed a lot of qualities to win the 26th edition Taiping 10's rugby tournament. The Kedah side edged UPM Serdang Angels 7-5 in the Cup final to take the Lim Swee Chin Trophy for the first time. Fresh from winning the Kuching Sevens earlier this month, UPM Angels could not deny PSNK-Jobs from claiming the victory. With some experienced players like Mohd Fairuz Ab Rahman and Mohd Saizul Hafifi in the team, PSNK were solid to overcome all challengers. Home team, Taiping Tigers ETRC won the the Plate after defeating their brothers, Rain Town RC 32-0 in the final. Carnivoran Mongoose claimed the Bowl after a 7-0 win over Alor Setar Blues . Sixteen top clubs from all over the country including Cobra , KSDBKL and Royal Selangor Club took part in the this annual rugby tournament. CRISTIE KERR WINS SIME DARBY LPGA MALAYSIA

American Cristie Kerr holed a 36-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to close out a thrilling final round and win the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia by one shot. After a dropped shot by Kerr on the 17th, it looked as though the tournament was heading for a four-way play-off together with Danielle Kang , Jacqui Concolino and Shanshan Feng , but the seasoned pro showed her class to make the putt and claim the winner's cheque of US$ 270,000. Kerr carded an even-par 71 for the round which included four birdies, two bogeys and a double-bogey on the par-3 seventh.   Fan favourite Feng was also unable to break par on a course that she has so dominated over the years. One shot behind Feng at the start of play, the popular Chinese looked like she was out of the running with dropped shots on the 9th and 13th holes. PANUPHOL TAKES THE INDONESIA OPEN WITH FIVE SHOTS CLEAR

Thai talent Panuphol Pittayarat completed a total of 25 holes on Sunday to claim a commanding five-shot victory for his maiden Asian Tour title at the weather-hit Indonesia Open . The 24-year-old Panuphol returned in the morning to finish the remaining seven holes from his third round where he signed for a five-under-par 67 to lead by three shots heading into the final round. Panuphol traded three birdies against a bogey for an outward 34, grabbing just a one-shot edge over a fast-charging countryman Tirawat Kaewsiribandit , who closed in with four birdies, at the turn. Panuphol, however, pulled clear with three straight birdies from the 10th hole before adding two more birdies in his closing five holes for a final round 65 and a winning total of 23-under-par 265 at the Pondok Indah Golf Course . JUSTIN ROSE WINS THE WGC-HSBC CHAMPIONS WITH AMAZING COMEBACK

England's Justin Rose produced one of the greatest comebacks in golfing history by overcoming an eight-shot deficit to win the WGC-HSBC Champions on Sunday. The Olympic gold medalist started the day tied for fourth with world number one Dustin Johnson of the United States seemingly in a commanding position as he was six clear at the start of the day. The day however took a dramatic twist with Johnson struggling to get his game going. Unlike the last three days where he marked his card with a total of 22 birdies, the American failed to get a single birdie on the day which matters most. Rose was still six back at the turn but fired five birdies for an inward 31 to sign off with a five-under-par 67. LIGA SUPER: PENANG 1 – SELANGOR 3 Penang relegation from the Liga Super has been confirmed with a defeat to Selangor at State Stadium in Batu Kawan, yesterday. The Red Giants took the lead through Andik Vermansyah goal in the 25th minutes. Penang put an equalizer with Muhd Jafri Firdaus Chew goal four minutes after the break. Selangor took the game into their hand after Spanish talisman, Rufino Segovia stretching the gap with a fine finish in the 52nd minutes. Ten minutes later, Rufino put Selangor in comfort with the third goal which saw Penang goal keeper Amirul Asyraf Mohd Suhaidi look dejected with his team performance. Penang squandered the chances to close the gap after a penalty taken by Mohamed Syamer Kutty failed to hit the net in the 74th minutes. KASIDIT SAVOURS BREAKTHROUGH WIN AT THE PGM MIDF CHAMPIONSHIP

Kasidit Lepkurte of Thailand maintained his composure to close with a two-under-par 70 and win his first Asian Development Tour (ADT) title at the PGM MIDF Championship on Saturday. The 26-year-old Kasidit, who held a three-shot lead heading into the final round, traded three birdies against one bogey to win by three shots on 12-under-par 276 total at the Templer Park Country Club. Thailand's Pannakorn Uthaipas , who had led the first two rounds, matched Kasidit's efforts of a 70 to settle for second place at the RM250,000 (approx. US$55,000) ADT event. Shariffuddin Ariffin emerged as the highest-placed Malaysian after marking his best round of the week with a 66. He grabbed a share of third place with Thailand's Nattawat Suvajanakorn and South African Mathaim Keyser , who returned with matching 69s. "I never really felt the pressure as at the back of my mind, I knew I have a three-shot cushion at the start of the round," said a jubilant Kasidit.

Indian hotshot Gaganjeet Bhullar lifted the Macao Open trophy for the second time in his career after closing with a three-under-par 68 to complete a stunning wire-to-wire victory on Sunday. The 29-year-old Bhullar fired seven birdies against two bogeys and a double-bogey to win by three shots with a 13-under-par 271 total for his eighth Asian Tour victory at the Macau Golf and Country Club . Bhullar took home a winner's prize purse of US$90,000 and became only the third player after Australian Scott Hend (2013 and 2015) and Zhang Lian-wei of China (2001-2002) to win the storied event twice since the tournament was inaugurated in 1998. FAM CUP FINAL: SIME DARBY 2(3) - UKM FC 2(2) Sime Darby lifted the FAM Cup despite being held 2-2 by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia  (UKM FC) in the second leg of the final at the MBPJ Stadium on Sunday. The draw was enough for Sime Darby to win their second FAM Cup with 3-2 aggregate after winning 1-0 in the first leg match at Paroi last week. The last time they lifted the cup was in 2010. Hasrul Nurkholis Hasim gave UKM an early lead before Nazrul Kamaruzaman and Tunku Noor Hidayat Tunku Ishak scored either side of the half-time break for Sime Darby. Faidzol Fazreen Shamsudin set up a nervous final few moments for Sime Darby with an 89th-minute equaliser. However both teams already assured of promotion to next year's Premier League. UKM FC earned their first ever promotion into the Premier League, while Sime Darby are returning back just one year after being relegated.

JUSTIN THOMAS CLAIMS THE CJ CUP IN PLAY-OFF

Reigning FedEx Cup champion and PGA Tour Player of the Year, Justin Thomas once again got his season off to a hot start, winning in his second start at the inaugural edition of The CJ Cup @ Nine Bridges . Thomas narrowly missed an eagle putt on the 72nd hole to win, but earned his way into a playoff with Australian, Marc Leishman . After halving with pars on the 18th due to wayward drives, Thomas made a stress-free birdie to win in the first playoff of his PGA Tour career. The win, which brings his career total to seven, didn't come easy, as strong winds whipped Jeju Island, Korea all weekend. Thomas' win comes at the age of 24 years, 5 months and 29 days.   Thomas earned 500 FedEx Cup points, which moves him to third in the standings behind Pat Perez and Brendan Steele . FAM CUP: UKM FC 0 - SIME DARBY 1 Sime Darby FC are on a brink to win the 2017 FAM Cup competition after they sealed a valuable win last night. The Klang Valley outfit took a 1-0 win over UKM FC in the first leg of the FAM Cup final at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi, Seremban. Muhammad Zul Fahmi Awang secured the win for Sime Darby FC after the striker beat UKM FC keeper Mohamad Khairi Hassan with a fine finish in the 53rd minutes. Mohd Faizal Abd Faiz almost put Sime Darby FC in comfort but his effort just inches away from the goal post. Pat Perez completed a stunning victory at the US$7 million CIMB Classic by closing with a three-under-par 69 to win by four shots on Sunday. The American made three straight birdies from the second hole before a bogey on six was offset by another birdie on eight. He parred the next 10 holes to secure his first win in Asia and third on the PGA Tour with a winning total of 24-under-par 264. Keegan Bradley of the United States posted a flawless 67 to finish second, his best result at the CIMB Classic while Xander Schauffele (72) and Sung Kang (71) of Korea settled for a share of third place at the TPC Kuala Lumpur . Wolmer Murillo of Venezuela survived a five-way play-off to win his maiden Asian Development Tour (ADT) title at the US$100,000 Combiphar Players Championship on Saturday. The 36-year-old Murillo was the last man standing against Chinese Taipei's Wang Wei-lun , South African Mathiam Keyser , American John Catlin and William Harrold of England after they were all tied on seven-under-par 277 in regulation play at the New Kuta Golf , Bali. The decisive play-off, which was played only on the par-four ninth hole, saw Catlin, Harrold and Keyser bow out on the first extra hole after making bogeys while Wang and Murillo settled for pars. The duo then went the extra distance before Murillo sealed the deal with a six-foot birdie putt on the fourth extra hole to defeat Wang, who parred the same hole. UPM Serdang Angels clinched the Kuching 7's title after defeating home team KRFC Blackcatz in the cup final. The 2015 Champions completed their perfect run at the tournament with a comfortable 29-5 victory. Blackcatz entered the cup final after beating Wolfpack 24-0 in the semifinal, and the Angels cruised into the final with a 29-0 win over SHOAW Warriors . Ajeetesh Sandhu of India fired a two-under-par 70 to claim a dream victory at the US$500,000 Yeangder Tournament Players Championship (TPC) on Sunday. The 28-year-old returned with a winning total of 12-under-par 276 to defeat Johannes Veerman (71) of the United States by one-shot at the Linkou International Golf and Country Club . Overnight leader Blake Snyder was rewarded for his patience when he closed with a four-under-par 68 to win by two shots for his second Asian Development Tour (ADT) title at the PGM MNRB Championship on Saturday. The 25-year-old American, who held a one-shot advantage heading into the final round, fired five birdies against one bogey for a winning total of 15-under-par 273 at the Damai Golf and Country Club . Gavin Green of Malaysia shed his bridesmaid tag by winning his first Asian Tour title at the Mercuries Taiwan Masters on Sunday, and dedicated the win to his late grandfather. After finishing runner-up three times this year, Green closed with a one-under-par 71 to pull off a style two-shot victory at the Taiwan Golf and Country Club . The Front Row Club edged SCC 17-14 in a thrilling finale at the MPS Field in Seremban on Sunday. South Africa's Mathiam Keyser mounted a strong comeback with a final round two-under-par 70 to clinch his second Asian Development Tour win at the PGM Labuan Championship on Saturday. Keyser's winning total of six-under-par 282 was enough to hand him a two-shot victory over Thailand's Sorachut Hansapiban at the Labuan International Golf Club where the RM200,000 (approximately US$44,600) ADT event was staged.
