SELANGOR ESCAPE KUALA LUMPUR TEST TO REACH FA CUP SEMIFINALS

FA CUP:  SELANGOR 0(3) - KUALA LUMPUR 3(3)

Selangor reached the Malaysia FA Cup Semifinals after beating Kuala Lumpur in penalty shoot-outs. After losing 3-0 in the first leg, Kuala Lumpur scored three times in 90 minutes to equalise the aggregate and the winner has to be decided through spot kicks. It was unfortunate for the City Hawks as Selangor won 8-7 to move into the next stage.

Kuala Lumpur had a good start in the return leg as Zaquan Adha opened the scoring just after 15 minutes into the game. Paulo Josue made it two in the first half injury time to put the City Hawks in a good position for a comeback.

Selangor came back after the break struggling to stop Kuala Lumpur. Syazwan Andik Ishak found the net for the third time for Kuala Lumpur to keep their chances wide open again. The Red Giants just could not get the goal this time. They held on until the final whistle and have to rely on their luck in the shoot-outs.

After seven penalties taken, Firdaus Mohd Faudzi spot kick was saved by Khairulazhan Khalid to give Selangor the spot in the last four. Selangor will face PKNS FC in the FA Cup semifinals.
