MARC MARQUEZ WINS SIXTH CONSECUTIVE MOTOGP GRAND PRIX OF THE AMERICAS

Marc Marquez and  Repsol Honda collected their sixth consecutive win at the Circuit of the Americas. The Spaniard dominated the race to finish 3.5 seconds ahead second place, Yamaha's Maverick Vinales. Suzuki's Andrea Iannone took the third place behind the two Spanish riders.

After the incident with and Valentino Rossi at the Grand Prix of Argentina, Marquez served a three-spot grid penalty and went on to ride a clean and well-executed race. Andrea Iannone took accelerated to take the lead when the lights went out, but the Italian didn't have enough to hold his position. Marquez took over the lead after turn 12 and left the rest with his Honda.

Maverick Vinales started at pole position squeezed past Iannone on lap seven to finish second, and teammate Valentino Rossi had to settle for fourth place. Andrea Dovizioso finished fifth ahead Johann Zarco and Dani Pedrosa.
