NS WANDERERS CLINCH NEGERI SEMBILAN RUGBY LEAGUE TITLE

NS Wanderers defeated IJED RC in the final to win the Negeri Sembilan Rugby League. The Wanderers had to use all their experience to overcome the stubborn opponents before clinching the title at the KGV Georgian Green in Seremban.

The cup final was a very entertaining clash. Both teams were playing in the Malaysia Rugby League 2017 and are equally very good. IJED were in the final after they beat SORAC RC in the last four, while NS Wanderers beat Gunners RC to set-up the nail-biting finale.

NS Wanderers took the lead in the first half through Amir Shafiq Maddhiah's try. IJED gave a good fight but the score remain until the break.

The second half was more interesting as both teams improvised their games. IJED finally found the equalizer with a converted try by Muhammad Mustafa A. Wahid. NS Wanderers could not break the energetic opponent, but kept-on pressuring them. Two successful penalties by Danial Azhar Roslan lifted them up to the championship.

The victory is NS Wanderers first success in Negeri Sembilan Rugby League after so many years. Gunners RC took the third place after defeating SORAC 19-14 in the deciding match. Saseroba RC beat OGA RC 14-7 to claim the Plate, and Troopers RC thrashed IPG Enstek 67-12 to bag the Bowl.
