SELANGOR TAKE THREE GOALS ADVANTAGE IN FA CUP QUARTERFINALS

FA CUP: KUALA LUMPUR 0 - SELANGOR 3

Selangor have one foot in the FA Cup semifinals as they beat Kuala Lumpur 3-0 at Cheras Stadium on Saturday. Amri Yahyah was the man of the match for his involvements in all the goals during the crucial Klang Valley derby match. The 37-year old forward played an incredible game to build a comfortable advantage for his team in the return leg next week.

Both team had a fair share of possession in the first 20 minutes. Though, Selangor went ahead when Willian Pacheco headed in from a free-kick taken by Amri. Kuala Lumpur were playing under pressure to win in front of their fans.

Four minutes later, The Red Giants striked again. Rufino Segovia picked a through pass from Amri, beat the goalkeeper and defenders before slotting-in Selangor's second of the night. Kuala Lumpur's night just got worst few minutes later, Guilherme de Paula was sent off for reacting physically to a foul by midfielder Halim Zainal.

After the break, Kuala Lumpur were still struggling to find a goal against their neighbour. Selangor held on until the end of 90 minutes. Amri was still a dangerous player in the added time, his challenge against Kuala Lumpur's goalkeeper saw the ball landed near Rufino to score the third goal for the Red Giants. Selangor are looking good with three goals cushion for the return leg on 21st April.
