LEBANON CLINCH ASIA RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP DIV III WEST TITLE

Lebanon bagged the Division III West Asia Rugby Championship title after beating Iran 29-17 at Fouad Chehab Stadium. Iran did not go down easily as they showed a good performance in the first half to keep the score tied at 10-10 before the break.

However, they were down to 14 men after a player was given the red card for a high tackle. The Lebanese Phoenix took the advantage well in the second half before taming the Iranians with a 29-17 victory.

Iran were in the final after defeating Qatar 17-8, while the Phoenix hammered Jordan 62-3 in the semis. Qatar claimed the third place after beating Jordan 25-11 in the third/fourth place deciding match.
