PERAK STUNS KELANTAN IN AGONGS CUP OPENER

PIALA AGONG: PERAK 21 - KELANTAN 18

Perak staged a stunning performance to beat Kelantan 21-18 in their opening match at UPM on Saturday. The Bos Gaurus did not backed down even though Kelantan lead 6-10 at half time.

Perak took the lead in the first ten minutes through a penalty by Mohd Amir Aswad Mat Saad. However, Kelantan bounced back with a try four minutes later by Muhammafd Zulhisham Rasli.

Kelantan changed into offensive approach before getting another try in the 21st minute. Mohd Amir gave Perak a chance to stay in the game with a late penalty in the first half.

Kelantan pulled further in the 47th minute when Mohd Ikhwan Ikmal Zulkipli sneaked through for another try. Down with 6-15, Perak started to take charge over the mighty Kelantan.

A 62nd minute penalty by Mohd Amir, followed by a try by Mohamad Taufiq Mohd Noor and conversion by Mohd Amir sent Perak to one point ahead of their opponent. Kelantan took back the lead when Muhammad Nazreen Fitri scored a penalty in the 76th minute.

However, Perak were unstoppable. Muhamad Hakim Abu Hasan turned hero for the Bos Gaurus as he got the winning try two minutes from time. It was an amazing fight back by Mohamad Nazeer Nesharah's boys to earn a great start in their 2015 Agongs Cup campaign.
