PDRM BEAT ATM TO TAKE GROUP C TOP SPOT

PDRM clinched the top spot of Group C in the 2015 Agong's Cup Tournament after thrashing ATM with 25-14 score at Bellamy Field in Sungai Besi last Saturday. Both teams were equally good but ATM took an early lead through Farid Ahmad try in the third minutes.

Fifteen minutes later, a fine run from Vatiliai Tuisabeto Tora ensures PDRM back on level before scrum half, Mohammad Fazrin Noor Zahid put the cops infront with a conversion a minute later. The first half ended with PDRM leading the game with 7-5.

Mohd Aiman Jamaluddin scored a penalty three minutes after the restart to put ATM back into the lead. Trailing with one point, PDRM started to control the game positively and built the gap after securing 14 points within five minutes of play through Mohamad Safwan Abdullah and Sakeasi Tugalu Nalla tries in 50th and 53rd minutes. Vatiliai Tuisabeto Tora made two conversions from the tries.

Vatiliai put PDRM in comfort zone with a penalty in 66th minutes before ATM makes a late come back through Mohd Redzuan Sharif try and a conversion five minutes later. However it was already too late to stop PDRM sealing the victory.

SSTMI STRONG DETERMINATION WINS BANK MUAMALAT MELAKA 10S

Sekolah Sukan Tengku Mahkota Ismail  (SSTMI Tsunami) won the  Melaka International Rugby 10s  after defeating  Muamalat Bullets  19-17 in the Open Cup Final Match. The young  Tsunami  players displayed a great fighting spirit to stun the more experience opponents in a nail-biting finale. Coached by  Syed Shazril Syed Mahadzir  and  Syahir Asraf Rosli , the SSTMI boys showed their class to compete against international players. They beat  KL Tigers  12-0 in the quarterfinals before taming  Muamalat Bazooka  24-10 in the last four. In the veteran category,  Melaka High School Oldboys  beat  SDAR Alumni  12-0 to claim the title.  ASAS Veterans  settled for third after beating  SMSS Oldboys  19-7 in the Plate Final. FRANCE CLAIM FIRST OLYMPIC GOLD IN STYLE

France  won their first gold medal at the 2024  Paris Olympic Games  in the most incredible style. In the men's rugby sevens final, they defeated the two-time Olympic winners,  Fiji , 28–7. Fiji won gold in 2016, and did it again in 2020 and were unbeaten in 17 games of Olympic competition. Antoine Dupont  was simply inspirational as France claimed their first Olympics gold medal in rugby at the Stade de France. The Olympic gold medal is the latest addition to his Six Nations title with France 15s, two European Rugby Champions Cups, and four Top 14 victories with club Toulouse. The 27-year-old is now widely regarded as one of the country’s best ever athletes. South Africa  bagged the men's rugby sevens bronze after some late scare.
