PERAK BEAT KELANTAN TO JOIN AGONG'S CUP BEST FOUR

​PIALA AGONG: PERAK 25 - KELANTAN 22

Perak marched into Agong's Cup semifinal after winning over Kelantan 25-22 at UKM Rugby Field on Sunday. The Bos Gaurus sealed the narrow victory with a late try in their second encounter against the same opponent.

Kelantan took the lead after seven minute into the game through Zulkiflee Azmi's try, and Mohamad Syarif Syaiful Razwan made it 7-0 with the conversion. Perak struggled early in the match to beat Kelantan's back line. Mohamad Syarif took Kelantan further with a penalty in the 33rd minute. Perak finally found the breakthrough with two penalties by Mohd Amir Hadafi Mat Saad in the 35th and 40th minute.

​Kelantan were back in business again in the 44th minute with another try by Mohd Faris Che Salim. But Perak did not give-up and pushed to the max. Two tries by Syarif Nurhidayat Muzhaimey and Ratu Apolosi in a period of ten minutes put Perak back into contention.

Mohd Amir scored one of the conversions. Perak pulled away in the 73rd minute with a try by Mohamad Azri Zulkefli and conversion by Mohd Amir. Kelantan's tried to make a late comeback with a try in the 77th minute, but Perak held on strongly and escaped with the crucial win. Perak will meet Johor in the last four on Wednesday at UPM Rugby Field.
