NEGERI MISS OUT QUARTERFINALS AS TERENGGANU MARCHED ON

PIALA AGONG: NEGERI SEMBILAN 24 - TERENGGANU 29

Negeri Sembilan blew their chance again to qualify into Agong's Cup quarter final after losing to Terengganu last Saturday. Terengganu showed a good fighting spirit through out the match and took advantage over the inconsistent home side to claim a deserving 29-24 victory.

Negeri Sembilan had all the opportunity to win the game. They got three tries from Anwarrul Hafiz Ahmad, Ropate Mokuvakaca, and Muhamad Amirul Aqil scored all the conversions. Terengganu could only get a try from Timoli Saini and a penalty by Mohd Fairuz Abd Rahman before going into the break with 8-21 down.

However, the second half was totally a different story. Terengganu staged an incredible comeback to beat Negeri Sembilan in front of their own fans. Triple tries by Timoli and Muhamad Syaril plus three conversion kicks by Mohd Fairuz gave Terengganu all the points they needed to beat Negeri Sembilan.

Negeri Sembilan scored a penalty in the 69th minute, but it was not enough to deny Terengganu's victory. The win sent Terengganu into the next round while Negeri Sembilan missed out the Agong's Cup's best eight.
