TERENGGANU BEAT PAHANG FOR AGONG'S CUP FINAL



AGONG'S CUP: PAHANG 19 - TERENGGANU 22

Terengganu marched to the final of the 2014 Agong's Cup after beating Pahang 22-19 in Bangi yesterday. Pahang, who knocked out defending champions Johor two days ago fell to Terengganu's final minute attempt.

Terengganu opened their account in the 9th minute with a try by Ras Hurairah. However, Pahang equalized in the 12th minute from Muhamad Syabil Laila. Mohd Zamani Rosli converted and gives Pahang the lead a minute later.



The match between the two east coast teams was very close. Terengganu went ahead again in the 26th minute after Mohamad Faiz Abd Rashid scored a penalty.

Second half resumed with Terengganu leading Pahang by just a single point (8-7). Pahang took the lead again six minutes after the restart. Mohd Zamani got a try and scores the conversion himself.

Terengganu pushed forward with more players. They got back into the game with a try by Apete Daveta in the 51st minute. Mohamad Faiz did not make any mistake to complete the conversion.



Both side possessed very high fighting spirit. Pahang was in front again after another try by Mohamad Taufiq Mohd Noor in the 56th minute. However, they failed to pick the additional 2 points from the spot.

It was another dramatic ending in this tournament when Terengganu's Tg Mohd Faris Tg Roslan got another try in the final minute, to give his team the most important win in their campaign. Mohamad Zaki converted from the spot to complete Terengganu's good performance that evening.
