STACY LEWIS TAKES THE LEAD AT SIME DARBY LPGA MALAYSIA

World No. 1 Stacy Lewis took a one stroke lead after completing the first round of the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia. The American displayed a faultless round with 6-under 65 at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club today.

The early pace was set by So Yeon Ryu who picked up a birdie on the first hole, followed by four consecutive birdies on holes four to seven, together with a further three on the back nine. However, Lewis shot a total of six birdies without any bogeys on her way out of the tight leaderboard.

Tied for second were the South Korean quartet of Na Yeon Choi, Hee Young Park, Eun Hee Ji and So Yeon Ryu. From the last seven LPGA tournaments, Golfers from South Korea have won six. Last year's winner, Lexi Thompson completed her first round with a 71.
