LEE-ANNE PACE BAGS FIRST LPGA TITLE IN CHINA

Lee-Anne Pace bagged her first LPGA tour title by winning the Blue Bay LPGA at Jian Lake Blue Bay in China yesterday after the game was delayed on Sunday due to heavy rain. Fresh from winning the South African Open last week, the 33 year old golfer from South Africa were four strokes ahead with five more holes to play before the officials suspended the game due to darkness together with showers surrounding over the tournament area in the final day.

Pace finished the game with five-under 67 after making a 6-foot birdie putt at the 18th hole to complete the tournament with 16 under 200.

Trailing from behind was Caroline Masson of Germany. She also birdied the final three holes for 67 but ended up with 13 under 203 to settle for second spot. Sharing at third place were Michelle Wie and Jessica Korda after both players tied at 11 under 205.

The win is Lee-Anne Pace second world stage victory within a week after she successfully bagged her ninth Ladies European Tour victory in South Africa last week. It is also her third victory in China after winning the Sanya Ladies Open in 2010 and 2013.
