PDRM EDGE JOHOR IN THRILLING PIALA AGONG FINAL

Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM) once again proved their dominance as a rugby powerhouse after clinching the 2025 Piala Agong title, defeating Johor 18-17 in a thrilling final at UM Arena earlier this evening. Even sweeter, the victory marked a historic hat-trick of championships for PDRM in Malaysia’s most prestigious rugby tournament. The triumph was nothing short of dramatic. Under head coach Dinesvaran Krishnan , Sang Saka Biru fought until the final moments of the match to break Johor’s hearts. The highly anticipated clash between the two best teams in the country began with both sides missing early penalty chances through Aqasha Daniel Irwan (Johor) and Muhamad Amirul Aqil Kamsol (PDRM). AGONG CUP QUARTERFINALS SET AFTER THRILLING GROUP STAGE

After five weeks of pulsating action, the Agong Cup group stage has concluded, with all ten teams battling hard for glory in Malaysia ’s most prestigious rugby competition. Defending champions PDRM lived up to their billing, topping Group A with a flawless record of four wins from four matches. Under the guidance of former national stars Dineswaran Krishnan and Yusli Ramli , the Police Team have now set their sights on a historic fifth title, having lifted the Agong Cup four times since 1983. Group B belonged to Johor , who collected maximum points under the leadership of head coach Rodney So’oialo . SABAH JOINS PIALA AGONG'S BEST FOUR

​ AGONG'S CUP: SABAH 33 - PDRM 24    Sabah thrashed PDRM in the quarter finals 33-24 to claim a spot in the last four of the 2014 Piala Agong Rugby. The East Malaysian showed their true strength against one of the best team in this year's championship. ​​ Zakhwan Othman gave Sabah their first points with a try in the 19th minute. Orene Ai converted the score to seven a minute later. It took just two minutes for Sabah to grab another try from Jonathan Tan. Once again Orene did not disappoint from the spot to give Sabah the conversion. The Police did not let Sabah to run away easily. They managed to match their opponent until the break with a 14-14 score. ​​ Sabah came on for the second half stronger than before. JOHOR FIGHT BACK TO CLINCH THE AGONG'S CUP

PIALA AGONG: TERENGGANU 29 - JOHOR 32 Johor bounced back in the last forty minutes to claim their second Agong's Cup title. The 2013 Champions staged an amazing comeback to beat Terengganu 32-29 at the Gong Badak Stadium on Saturday. It was another nail-biting match as it always happened in the Agong's Cup final. Terengganu started-off like a winner as they went 17-0 up after 22 minutes. Three tries by Timoci Vunimoku , Sevanaia Natuitagalua Naitonicagi , and a conversion by Muhammad Faizal Md Tahir produced exciting moments for the home crowd. ​ AGONG'S CUP FINAL: SABAH 29 - TERENGGANU 10   Sabah is the new Piala Agong champions after defeating Terengganu 29-10 at the UKM Rugby Stadium last Saturday. The East Malaysian produced a powerful performance and gives Terengganu a very hard time. Terengganu started with a positive note when Mohamad Faiz Abdul Rashid scored an early penalty.  ​ However, Sabah bounced back strongly after that. Jonathan De Souza got a try in the 5th minute to send Sabah in front. Orene Aii took the conversion perfectly before adding more points for Sabah from two penalty kicks in the 14th and 21st minute. TERENGGANU THRASH ATM IN AGONG'S CUP QUARTERFINAL

PIALA AGONG QUARTERFINAL TERENGGANU 27 - ATM 8 Terengganu displayed an impressive performance in their Agong's Cup quarterfinal match to secure a place in the last four stage. The rising east coast side who beat Perlis and Selangor in their Group B matches did not choke against the hard fighting ATM at UPM Rugby Field. ATM did not give it easy for Terengganu. They lead the 8-7 after the first half. However, Terengganu showed their true character after the break. They powered through to the end with 20 points to give the a deserving 27-8 victory over ATM. It will be their second consecutive Agong's Cup semifinal on 30th September.

TERENGGANU CRUISE INTO AGONG'S CUP FINAL

PIALA AGONG: TERENGGANU 29 - KEDAH 19 Terengganu reached the Agong's Cup final after defeating Kedah 29-19 on Thursday. The East Coast team were clearly the superior team as they destroyed Kedah's cup dream. Terengganu took the lead just after four minutes into the game through Muhammad Faizal Md Tahir 's penalty. Mohd Akmal Abd Manaf brought Kedah back into the game with a try in the 15th minute. Mohd Fairuz Ab Rahman scored the conversion to give his team the lead. Five minutes later, Terengganu were back in the driving seat again. Three tries in six minutes by Mohd Alif Al-Hafiz Abd Karim , Muhammad Faris Abdillah , Sevanaia Natuitagalua gave Terengganu a comfortable 22-7 advantage at half time. PIALA AGONG: PERAK 16 - KEDAH 14 Perak finished their 2017 Agong's Cup campaign at third place after edging Kedah team 16-14 on Saturday. The win did not come easy for the 2016 champions as Kedah gave a good fight right to the end. Perak had a good start as they went in front with a penalty by Mohd Amir Aswad Mat Saad in the 18th minute. They increased the advantage right before the break with a try by Muhammad Harith Iqbal Muhd Anhar and conversion by Mohd Amir. Kedah came back stronger in the second half. They pumped the pressure on their opponent and got a penalty try in the 53rd minute. Perak responded with a susccesful penalty by Muhammad Harith in the 66th minute. ​PIALA AGONG: TERENGGANU 15 - SABAH 16 Sabah once again spoils Terengganu's Agong's Cup dream when they win their semifinal battle 16-15 at UPM Rugby Field yesterday.The defending champions had to wait until the final four minutes before taking over the lead from the hard fighting Terengganu . Terengganu did not take too long to settle in the game. An early penalty kick from Mohd Fairuz Abd Rahman put them ahead just two minutes after the match started. Sabah struggled to get their game right, could not deny Terengganu from making a try in the 16th minute through Mohd Faridzal Ismail . ​PIALA AGONG: SABAH 28 - PERAK 16 Sabah had successfully retained the Agong's Cup after defeating Perak 28-16 in the final at Kelana Jaya Stadium on Saturday. After making to their first ever final since 1985, Perak have to accept the superior quality of the defending champions, Sabah. Sabah pumped the pressure on Perak from the beginning with a try in the 11th minute by No.8, Nathanael Tan Aik Ming . Orene Ai'i made it 7-0 with his conversion a minute later. ​Perak replied with a penalty in the 15th minute. ​PIALA AGONG: PERAK 25 - KELANTAN 22 Perak marched into Agong's Cup semifinal after winning over Kelantan 25-22 at UKM Rugby Field on Sunday. The Bos Gaurus sealed the narrow victory with a late try in their second encounter against the same opponent. Kelantan took the lead after seven minute into the game through Zulkiflee Azmi 's try, and Mohamad Syarif Syaiful Razwan made it 7-0 with the conversion. Perak struggled early in the match to beat Kelantan's back line. Mohamad Syarif took Kelantan further with a penalty in the 33rd minute. ​PIALA AGONG: PERAK 10 - JOHOR 6 Perak finally ended their long wait for Agong's Cup final after beating Johor 10-6 in their semifinal match at UPM Rugby Field on Wednesday. The Silver state team had last won the prestigious cup in 1985. Their road to this year's final was tough but they passed them with flying colours. Johor were not an easy opponent. They took the lead after ten minutes from a penalty by Wan M Asyraf Norudin and held on through the first half. ​PIALA AGONG: SELANGOR 9 - TERENGGANU 26   Terengganu kicked start their new Agong's Cup campaign with a convincing win over Selangor at the UPM Rugby Field on Saturday. The 2014 finalist showed put up an excellent effort to record a deserving 26-9 win over Selangor.   Terengganu pumped the pressure on Selangor with an early penalty in the 4th minute. Mohd Fairuz Abd Rahman made no mistake to give his team the lead. Eight minutes later Timoci Saini broke Selangor defence for a try. PIALA AGONG QUARTERFINAL PDRM 23 - JOHOR 28 Johor edged PDRM 28-23 in quarterfinal to book a place in the Agong's Cup last four. The southern team started-off aggresively with early penalty by Razitaman Kaalam . Wan Mohd Asyraf Norudin made a try in the 7th minute and Firdaus Rozan 's conversion gave Johor more advantage. PDRM could not hold Johor's aggresive approach and were down 13-28 after the first half. The under presure PDRM side came on stronger in the second half. KELANTAN HAMMERED KL IN AGONG'S CUP OPENER

PIALA AGONG: KELANTAN 76 - KUALA LUMPUR 0 Kelantan opened their 2016 Agong's Cup campaign with a convincing 76-0 win over Kuala Lumpur . The 2010-2012 champions took control of the match at UPM Serdang from the start, and succesfully prevented Kuala Lumpur from scoring any point last Saturday. Kelantan took a comfortable 43-0 lead after the break but they scored another 33 points in the second half. Kuala Lumpur could not stop their aggressive opponents which led by national captain Mohd Syahir Asraf . Kelantan's import, Aisea Bici Druma scored a hattrick of tries, and Zulmajdi Kama Razali succesfully kicked six conversions to help their team claiming first win of the season. JOHOR STUN PERAK IN AGONG'S CUP SEMIFINALS

PIALA AGONG: PERAK 19 - JOHOR 26 Johor stunned defending champions Perak in the Agong's Cup last four to secure a place in the final. The underdog from the south claimed a marvelous 26-19 victory over the 2016's winner at the Gong Badak Stadium on Thursday. Both team were almost equally good in the first forty minutes. However, a try by Aitui Nissan at the half-hour mark handed Johor the advantage. Wan Mohd Asyraf Norudin made no mistake from the spot to give his team the seven points advantage at the break. The game became more exciting in the second half. Four minutes after the match resumed, Rusiate Nasove made a try for Perak to reduce the deficit. Johor replied with a try by Mohd Fitri Abdullah in the 48th minute. PIALA AGONG: NEGERI SEMBILAN 24 - TERENGGANU 29 Negeri Sembilan blew their chance again to qualify into Agong's Cup quarter final after losing to Terengganu last Saturday. Terengganu showed a good fighting spirit through out the match and took advantage over the inconsistent home side to claim a deserving 29-24 victory. Negeri Sembilan struggled to show their true potential despite playing on their home ground. TERENGGANU SINK PERLIS IN SERDANG

PIALA AGONG: TERENGGANU 34 - PERLIS 10 Terengganu kicked start their Agong's Cup campaign with a convincing win over Perlis at UPM Serdang. The east coast side showed a strong performance to tame their opponent 34-10. Perlis who won their opening match against Selangor last week could not maintain good form. Two tries by Sevanaia Natuitagalua and one by Joseva Nasalo were enough to give Terengganu a comfortable 22-3 advantage at half time. Terengganu controlled the game steadily after the break. Perlis found it hard to break the well organized Terengganu side. Tries by Muhamad Faiz Izzuddin Azmi and Muhamad Muzamir Noor Azhar took them further, although Perlis got their only try through Amirul Mukminin Amizan in the 64th minute.
