JOHOR FIGHT BACK TO CLINCH THE AGONG'S CUP

PIALA AGONG: TERENGGANU 29 - JOHOR 32

Johor bounced back in the last forty minutes to claim their second Agong's Cup title. The 2013 Champions staged an amazing comeback to beat Terengganu 32-29 at the Gong Badak Stadium on Saturday. It was another nail-biting match as it always happened in the Agong's Cup final.

Terengganu started-off like a winner as they went 17-0 up after 22 minutes. Three tries by Timoci Vunimoku, Sevanaia Natuitagalua Naitonicagi, and a conversion by Muhammad Faizal Md Tahir produced exciting moments for the home crowd. Johor finally settled in at the half-hour mark with a try by Waqaliva Jone Vucukula and conversion by Wan Mohd Asyraff Norudin. The first half ended with Terengganu holding the lead 17-7.

Johor were totally different after the break. They leveled the score just after ten minutes into the second half. A successful penalty by Wan Mohd Asyraff and a converted try by Mohd Razmi Rozan brought them back into the game. Terengganu got a try in the 57th minute through Timoci to keep their chance alive. But two tries by Amirul Aiman Ihsan Abbas and Waqaliva, with a 72nd minute penalty kicked by Wan Mohd Asyraff took Johor to the championship. Johor finally clinched the 35th edition of the prestigious Agong's Cup in another dramatic finale.
