TERENGGANU TAKE AGONG'S CUP THIRD PLACE

PIALA AGONG: TERENGGANU 40 - JOHOR 18

Terengganu claimed third place in Agong's Cup 2015 after beating Johor 40-18 on Saturday. The east coast side showed class in the match where Johor could not deny their determination.

Johor took an early lead after W. Mohd Asyraf Norudin scored a penalty seven minute after the start. Terengganu got into the match when Ras Hurairah Razbi broke the duck with a try in the 14th minute. And Mohd Fairuz Ab Rahman calmly kicked in for the conversion.

Terengganu enjoyed their domination by scoring another three tries in 10 minutes through Mohd Hafiizh Zainal and a double by Soliano Volivoli Tuevei. Mohd Fairuz was at his best to complete another two conversions before Mohd Faridzal Ismail scored one in the 28th minute.

Johor did not throw the towel yet, they managed to get a try in the 33rd minute through Joshua Barak Kiniviliame. Johor came on for the second half trailing Terengganu 28-8. They scored another three points from a penalty by Mohd Asyraf five minutes after the restart.

However Terengganu were not affected by Johor's attempts. Two tries in the 59th and 64th minute by Muhammad Zharif Affandi and Mohamad Nasharuddin Ismail put them in total control.

Although Johor got a try by Joshua Barak six minute before the end and a conversion by Mohd Razmi Rozan could not stop Terengganu from claiming the victory. The win is a sweet consolation for Terengganu who were unlucky in the semifinal after losing narrowly to Sabah.
