SELANGOR HAMMERED MELAKA UNITED TO STAY ON TOP

LIGA SUPER: SELANGOR 4 - MELAKA UTD 1

Selangor continued their good run in Liga Super 2018 as they recorded their second consecutive win at the Cheras Stadium on Wednesday. The Red Giants beat Melaka United 4-1 to stay on top of the table with goal difference. Despite their home ground problems before the season starts, Selangor have been performing very good at the newly refurbished Cheras Stadium.

Selangor opened the scoring through Rufino Segovia in the 7th minute. Evan Dimas showed good understandings as he combined well with Rufino. Melaka fought back with an equalizer from Tiago Gomes's free kick in the 28th minute. The Red Giants almost regained the advantage in the 43rd minute, but Rufino's penalty kick was saved by Zamir Selamat.

Syahmi Safari gave Selangor the lead again as he beat the Melaka's goalkeeper in the 53rd minute. Selangor took good control of the match and Rufino scored his fourth goal from two matches in the 66th minute. Syahmi also got his second of the night with a powerful shot one minute from time. Selangor cruised away with another win, and Melaka United left Cheras empty-handed.
