OLLIE MELLORS DRIVES PROTON IRIZ TO VICTORY AT CAMBRIAN RALLY

Ollie Mellors and Max Freeman immediate chemistry powered a Proton Iriz R5 to victory at the Cambrian Rally. The pair beat the experienced Paul Bird and Jack Morton.

Derbyshire's Mellor and his Welsh co-driver, Freeman had never met before. They were late entry but managed to overcome the race challenges and claim the title.

Despite recording five fastest time, Matt Edwards and Darren Garrod ended the race empty handed after their Ford Fiesta R5 collided with a log. Another favourite, Luke Francis and John H Roberts also retired due to car problem two stages from the finish.

The Cambrian Rally is the season opener for the BTRDA Rally Series.
