BMW MALAYSIAN OPEN: WANG YAFAN BEAT NIGINA ABDURAIMOVA

The second day of qualifying has so far seen Asian players dominating the hard courts of the Royal Selangor Golf Club for the BMW Malaysian Open 2015. The matches were once again played in hot and humid weather conditions despite a build-up of dark clouds that hovered briefly over the sprawling grounds of the Royal Selangor Golf Club.

All eyes were on centre court once again as a resurgent Wang Yafan of China took on the towering Nigina Abduraimova of Uzbekistan. After a hotly contested first set, Wang managed to take control in the second set to win the match in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. After spending close to one and a half hours on centre court seeing off Abduraimova's challenge, a relieved Wang was very happy to make it to the first round.
