ANDY SULLIVAN WINS IN AFRICA AGAIN

Andy Sullivan claimed his second European Tour title in South Africa within two months after closing with a 6-under 66 for a 17-under total and a two-shot victory at the Joburg Open on Sunday. His latest European Tour win came in the same city as his first after winning the South African Open in Johannesburg in January.

The Englishman started the final round with three shots behind leader Wallie Coetsee, but went top after five birdies in his front nine at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club. Sullivan added another two birdies in the last nine but that was enough to hold off a big group of chasers down the home stretch. The 28-year-old finished two strokes ahead of Kevin Phelan, Jaco van Zyl, Anthony Wall, David Howell and Coetsee.

The achievement confirms his appearance at the British Open at St. Andrews with fellow Englishmen Wall and Howell. It is his second time of a big final-day move after catching up to beat Charl Schwartzel in a playoff at the South African Open six weeks ago.
