PERAK, JOHOR SET-UP SEMIFINAL CLASH IN AGONG'S CUP

Perak are on course to retain the Agong's Cup title after edging Sabah 27-20 in the quarterfinals. The defending champions displayed a good performance to deny Sabah's hope for another semifinal appearance. Muhammad Harith Iqbal Muhd Anhar, Rusiate Nasone, Timoci Tavuto, scored three tries, and Mohd Amir Aswad Mat Saad scored three conversions and two penalties to keep Perak title defence mission alive. Sabah gave a good fight in the second half, but Perak held on with good controls of the game.

In another quarterfinals match, Johor clinched a place in the last four after beating Negeri Sembilan 38-18 at UPM on Monday. Negeri Sembilan got a good start in the first 10 minutes, but Johor bounced back take charge of the game. Johor went into the break with 21-10 advantage. Negeri Sembilan played their best in the second half, but Johor were the better side for the semifinals. The win set-up an interesting clash between Perak and Johor in the last four this Thursday.
