MAF BLACKHAWKS WIN KL LEAGUE DII TITLE

KL RUGBY LEAGUE: MAF 34 - SKIRA EAGLES 17

Malaysian Air Force (MAF) displayed a superior performance in the final to claim the Kuala Lumpur Rugby League Division II title. The Blackhawks beat Skira Eagles 34-17 at TUDM Bellamy Rugby Field on Saturday.

MAF started-off well with a try by Khairol Hanif Abdul Kudus, before Rostam Tugiman scored a conversion and two penalties in the first half. A converted try by Muhammad Hamdani Ahmad and a penalty by Muhamad Fikri Abdullah kept the Eagles chances alive at half time.

The Blackhawks got better after the break. Three tries by Mohd Zulhafizi Che Din, Mohd Hazuwan Zakeri, Redzuan Mohd Syarif, and three successful conversions by Rostam Tugiman put them closer to the title. Skira could only make one try through Mohamad Safwan Amir, and a conversion by Muhammad Suffi Mustaqim Othman in the second half. At the end, MAF cruised to victory with less pressure.
