SELANGOR MOVE INTO TOP FOUR AFTER WIN OVER SARAWAK

LIGA SUPER: SELANGOR 2 - SARAWAK 1

Selangor displayed improvements last night after inconsistent performance early this season by defeating Sarawak 2-1 in a Malaysia Super League match. Failed to win their last two matches, the Red Giants bounced back to beat Sarawak and moved-up to fourth spot with fifteen points from nine matches. The host got their lead through Romanian winger Victor Astafei in the 22nd minute and doubled by the Liberian hit man, Francis Forkey Doe. Mineiro's free-kick found Forkey Doe before he headed a goal four minutes after the second half resumed.

Sarawak who only recorded two wins so far are still struggling to get out from the relegation zone. The visitors had their consolation goal thru Mateo Roskam in the 83rd minute of the match. He received a long pass from Ronny Harun before beating Selangor's goalkeeper, Khairulazhan.
