COBRA STAY UNBEATEN IN SELANGOR LEAGUE

Cobra Stings maintained the one hundred percent record in Selangor Rugby League this season after claiming their fifth win over Unisel at Kelana Jaya on Saturday. The Stings displayed a good performance from the start and take a comfortable 10-0 first half advantage. Unisel replied with a converted try after the match resumed.

However, Cobra Stings had the experience and skills to stop Unisel. They got a converted try and scored two penalties to walk away with a steady 23-7 victory. The win ensured Cobra Stings remain on top of the table. In another Selangor Rugby League match, Storms RC beat Selangor Police 33-5.

FRANCE CLAIM FIRST OLYMPIC GOLD IN STYLE

France  won their first gold medal at the 2024  Paris Olympic Games  in the most incredible style. In the men's rugby sevens final, they defeated the two-time Olympic winners,  Fiji , 28–7. Fiji won gold in 2016, and did it again in 2020 and were unbeaten in 17 games of Olympic competition. Antoine Dupont  was simply inspirational as France claimed their first Olympics gold medal in rugby at the Stade de France. The Olympic gold medal is the latest addition to his Six Nations title with France 15s, two European Rugby Champions Cups, and four Top 14 victories with club Toulouse. The 27-year-old is now widely regarded as one of the country’s best ever athletes. South Africa  bagged the men's rugby sevens bronze after some late scare. SSTMI STRONG DETERMINATION WINS BANK MUAMALAT MELAKA 10S

Sekolah Sukan Tengku Mahkota Ismail  (SSTMI Tsunami) won the  Melaka International Rugby 10s  after defeating  Muamalat Bullets  19-17 in the Open Cup Final Match. The young  Tsunami  players displayed a great fighting spirit to stun the more experience opponents in a nail-biting finale. Coached by  Syed Shazril Syed Mahadzir  and  Syahir Asraf Rosli , the SSTMI boys showed their class to compete against international players. They beat  KL Tigers  12-0 in the quarterfinals before taming  Muamalat Bazooka  24-10 in the last four. In the veteran category,  Melaka High School Oldboys  beat  SDAR Alumni  12-0 to claim the title.  ASAS Veterans  settled for third after beating  SMSS Oldboys  19-7 in the Plate Final.
