US TEAM WINS THE PRESIDENTS CUP AGAIN
PRESIDENTS CUP: USA 18 1/2 - INTERNATIONALS 15 1/2
The Presidents Cup ended just the way it always does. Tiger Woods have to battle a backache before sealing another American win over the International Team. It's the third winning point delivered by him in three consecutive Presidents Cup, and also the third year the US team are captained by Fred Couples.
The Americans finished strong in the foursomes sessions for a commanding 14-8 lead, only needed to win 4 of the 12 singles matches. Despite the strong lead, it was tougher for the US Team in the single matches. The International team took 6 of the first 9 matches and closed the gap to just three points.
As the Americans needed just one more win, spotlight was on Tiger Woods again. He found the green and two-putted for par and a 1-up victory over Richard Sterne to clinch The Presidents Cup for the third consecutive time.
