MOTO GP: ZULFAHMI FIGHTS PAIN TO START FROM 14TH SPOT

Local star, Zulfahmi Khairuddin completed the qualifying session of the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix on a good note despite only securing 14th spot on the starting grid. The Malaysian rider clocked 2:15.474 at the Sepang International Circuit on Saturday. He is just 1.607 seconds behind pole sitter and Red Bull KTM Ajo team-mate Luis Salom, who recorded 2:13.867.

The 22-year-old took the pole position here last year. But this round, he is still recovering from by a fractured wrist and aching back which had affected his timing. Though, Zulfahmi is very positive and expect to feel a lot better on Sunday.

The heavy morning rain made it difficult for most riders. They have to choose wet tyres during the start of the afternoon qualifying session because of several patches on the track. Other local wildcard riders, Amirul Hafiq Azmi and Husni Aizat Abdul Malik will start from 32nd and 33rd spots on the grid on Sunday.
