UNSTOPPABLE KERIS CONLAY MARCH INTO MRL PREMIER FINAL

MRL PREMIER SEMIFINALS
KERIS CONLAY 17 - UITM LIONS 7

Keris Conlay is just a win away from the Malaysia Rugby League (MRL) Premier title. The 2013 and 2015 Super League Champions will be gunning for the first ever Malaysia Rugby Premiership title next weekend. The Kuala Lumpur based club continued their fine run to beat UiTM Lions in the semifinals at UPM Serdang on Saturday.

The semifinal clash between the two teams looked even in the first twenty minutes. However, Keris Conlay had more experience in their team to tame the young and energetic UiTM Lions. Mohd Fairuz Ab Rahman opened the scoring in the 23rd minute from a penalty. Just two minutes later, Jone Marawa Nasalo got the first try for Keris Conlay. Mohd Fairuz calmly scored the conversion for his team.

UiTM Lions got back into the match with a try by Mohd Syahimi Abd Aziz in the 33rd minute. Mohamad Sofian Mohd Kamil delivered the conversion to reduce the deficit. Though, Keris Conlay went into the break with 10-7 advantage.

The match turned hotter in the second half. Both sides gave out everything to get into the prestigious final. Four yellow cards were shown by the referee. Keris Conlay held on to deny UiTM Lions. A try in the last three minutes seemed enough to give Keris Conlay the precious victory. Mohd Fairuz once again confirmed his team's appearance in the MRL final with the last conversion.
