NAVY ORCA CAPTURE MALAYSIA RUGBY LEAGUE DIVISION TWO TITLE

MRL DIVISION TWO FINAL
NAVY ORCA 12 - TERENGGANU RT 8

Navy Orca became the first team to win the Malaysia Rugby League Division Two last Sunday. The Lumut based rugby club used their experience to beat the young Terengganu Rugby Team in the final at Serdang.

Terengganu RT took an early advantage. Muhammad Faziemi Johari gave them the lead with a succesful penalty after just eight minutes into the final. The Orca were back in the game in the 17th minute as Khairilmizan Ishak broke into Terengganu RT's try area. Zulfadlee Ismail calmly scored the conversion to extend Orca's lead. Five minutes before the break, Mohd Saiful Izwan Rosli got another try for Navy Orca to take the half time advantage with 12-3 score.

Both teams were more cautious in the second half. Muhamad Fadhil Mohd Sauti got a try for Terengganu RT five minutes before the final whistle for a late comeback. However, Navy Orca held on until the end. It is a good achievement for Azhar Adnan's team, though the young Terengganu players gained a valuable experience despite the defeat. The win will take Navy Orca into the MRL Division One next season.
