NS WANDERERS IN THE FINAL AFTER WIN OVER KL SARACENS

NICC: NS WANDERERS 11(14) - KL SARACENS 11(11) 

NS Wanderers confirmed their place in the National Inter Club Rugby Championship (NICC) final after defeating KL Saracens in extra-time. Both team were tied with 11-11 score after regular time and had to play in a sudden death extra time to decide the winner.

KL Saracens opened the scoring just two minutes after the start with a penalty by Matthew Cole. NS Wanderers had a hard time to break the Saracens defence. However, Ropate Mokuvakaca managed to make a try in the 8th minute to give wanderers the lead. KL Saracens started to pump the pressure on the home side. Cole suddenly broke through for a try in the 33rd minute to give KL Saracens half-time lead with 8-5.

NS Wanderers returned for the second half trailing KL Saracens with three points. Mohd Edzuan Manan leveled the score with a penalty in the six minutes after the match resumed. KL Saracens were in front again when Cole scored a penalty in the 65th minute. But, NS Wanderers equalised again in the 74th minute with another penalty by Ammil Aizat Jasmi.

Both team were equally good as they completed the regulation time tied 11-11.  Referee Raja Saiful blew the whistle for the sudden-death extra-time. NS Wanderers were quick to push forward. After seven minutes into the extra-time, NS Wanderers were awarded a penalty. Muhamad Amirul Aqil Kamsol stepped up to take the kick and send it through for the winner. NS Wanderers will face Iskandar Raiders in the NICC final.
