NS WANDERERS BEAT KL TIGERS TO PROGRESS INTO NICC NEXT STAGE


NICC: NS WANDERERS 19 - KL TIGERS 5

NS Wanderers put up a good performance to take them into the next stage of the National Inter Club Championship (NICC). The Negeri Sembilan side beat KL Tigers 19-5 in Mantin and are looking good to progress further in the championship.

The Wanderers opened the scoring in the third minute with a penalty taken by Ammil Aizat Jasmi. KL Tigers did not give up easily as they managed stop the home side from collecting more points in the first half. The Tigers went ahead with a try in the 23rd minute. However, The Wanderers took the lead again in the 38th minute through a penalty by Ammil Aizat.

​Taking a slim 6-5 lead into the break, NS wanderers came back stronger in the second half. They started to pull away with a penalty in the 58th minute, and a try three minutes later by Ratu Orisi Racama Vitukawalu. Mohd Aizat Azmi completed the conversion before scoring another penalty in the 69th minute to take his team beyond the Tigers reach.

In other NICC matches on Saturday, KL Saracens defeated Jerantut RC 58-8 at UM Rugby Field, and Old Edwardians beat Sahoca 33-10 in Taiping. NS Wanderers are currently third in NICC rankings behind KL Saracen and Iskandar Raiders.
