PANTHERS BLOWPIPES HAMMER KOBOYS IN HEAVY DOWNPOUR

NICC: KOBOYS 3 - PANTHERS BLOWPIPES 38

Panthers Blowpipes joined the best eight of the National Inter Club Championship rugby tournament (NICC) after beating KoBoys in their last group match on Sunday. The Panthers showed no mercy towards their opponent on the wet and muddy Universiti Malaya rugby field by claiming a huge win. The match was stopped for a while early in the match due to heavy rain and lightnings.

The Panthers took broke the deadlock after 15 minutes with a try by Samuela Tamanisu. Lowane Sovatabua Taukeijalili doubled the score after the half hour mark, and Izwan Mohamad kicked it through for the conversion. Another two tries by Muhammad Zarrul Aizat Zaaba & Samuela made the game look easy for the Panthers. Mohamad Haidar Mohd Shahrif scored a penalty right before the break to give KoBoys their only three points.

It was business as usual for Panthers Blowpipes in the second half. Another try by Lowane in the 53rd minute, and Izwan's coversion send them beyond Koboy's reach. Both players made similar contributions 15 minutes later to kill off their opponents' chances. The win placed Panthers Blowpipes inside the top 4 rankings in NICC
