TNB EDGE SAPURA FOR MHL THIRD POSITION

MALAYSIA HOCKEY LEAGUE: TNB 2 - SAPURA 0

Two goals from two penalty corners in second half was enough for TNB to beat Sapura and picked 3 valuable points at Bukit Jalil Stadium. TNB returned with greater determination after losing their previous match against UniKL last Tuesday. However, Sapura were tough at the back in the first half lead by former international, Megat Azrafiq. The score remained goalless until the break.

Amin Rahim finally gave TNB the lead after scoring from a penalty corner in the 39th minute. Sapura started to feel the pressure. Losing the match will put their hope to finish in the top three in jeopardy. Sapura launched series of attack but Madzli Ikmar, Izad Hakimi and Amin Rahim defended steadily for TNB.

TNB got another penalty corner in th 54th minute, and Shahril Saabah brilliantly scored the opprtunity to give TNB a comfortable 2-0 lead. TNB secured third position in the Malaysia Hockey League (MHL), while Sapura has to wait until their final match to  know their chances of finishing fourth.
