LEE WESTWOOD DEFENDS TITLE IN THAILAND


​​Defending champion Lee Westwood claimed a one-stroke victory against Australian Marcus Fraser and 2014 US Open Champion Martin Kaymer to win the Thailand Golf Championship title at Amata Spring Country Club in Chonbury, Thailand last Sunday.

The Englishman enjoyed the victory in the Club House after Martin Kaymer had to settle with bogey in the 17th hole while Marcus Fraser squandered the chances after missed a par putt on the 18th despite started the day with a comfortable two-stroke ahead.

Westwood sealed the victory with seven birdies in the final round to notch up five under 67 to give him eight-under 280 overall in total. The win extended his winning streak in Asian Tour titles to eight and are looking forward to fancy his chances for further success next year.

As the 2015 Maybank Malaysian Open already in his sight, Westwood had already confirmed to defend his title which will be held at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club from 5th to 8th February 2015.
