AMRI HELPS RED GIANTS TO BEAT JDT

PIALA MALAYSIA: SELANGOR 3 – JOHOR DT 2

Selangor showed their potential in the 2017 Malaysia Cup competition after edging Johor DT 3-2 at Selayang Municipal Council Stadium on Wednesday. Selangor took a 1-0 lead through Mohd Fairuz Abdul Aziz in the 33rd minutes. Mohamad Amri Yahyah makes it 2-0 for The Red Giants after receiving a fine pass from Forkey Doe. After taking the 2-0 lead, Selangor played defensively and JDT took over to control the game. 

Second half resumed with some changes in JDT line-up. Ahmad Hazwan Bakri reduced the gap with a fine finish in the 55th minutes. Darren Lok put JDT on level with a glancing header in the 70th minutes.

Mohamad Amri Yahyah converted a late spot kick to hand the Red Giants all three points after Forkey Doe was brought down by JDT full back. Selangor coach P. Maniam is full of praise for Mohd Amri Yahyah and his players after their 3-2 Malaysia Cup Group D win over JDT. The win lifted the Red Giants to the top of Group D with seven points, followed by JDT with 4 points. Terengganu laid in the third place with 3 points while Sarawak at bottom with 1 point after three match played.
