MALAYSIA STUN SRI LANKA WITH GREAT PERFORMANCE

ASIA RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP 2016
MALAYSIA 42 - SRI LANKA 17

After a dissapointing loss to the Volcanoes over the weekend, Malaysia suddenly became the favourite after stunning tournament favorite Sri Lanka in the Division One of the Asian Rugby Championship. Sri Lanka really don't know what hit them when Malaysia kept them at bay with a hefty scoreline of 42 - 17.

The roar at the Bukit Kiara Royal Selangor Club pitch has never been louder. Even the local fans were equally surprised with the sudden demolition of the South Asia. Never been prouder Coach Lee Nyuk Fah fielded pretty much the same line up from Sunday comfortably made 5 tries and 4 conversions throughout the match after taking the 1st half lead of 20 - 10. Four home-grown player, Mohd Syahir Asraf Rosli, Badrul Muktee, Tengku Mohd Fariz and Mohd Aiman made the tries with Etonia Vaqa Saukuru. All the conversions were made by Mohamad Amirul.

Sri Lanka was visibly in disarray from the 1st half annihilation, never was the team ranked 38th in the world when they never recover throughout the rest of the game. Sri Lanka registered on the scoresheet via tries from Kavindu Parer and Bwanku Udangamuwa. Riza Mubarak converted the penalty. For the record Malaysia only ranked 58th in the World Rugby Ranking. Now Malaysia is on the driving seat with only Singapore in between of taking home the Championship. Malaysia is ripe to go all the way but then again hey, this is rugby. Even the ball bounced any other way. Let see what is in store for Malaysia this Saturday.
